Marriage on the Rock

This book has helped give me insight and knowledge on my own marriage in areas that I did not even know existed. I personally have grown so much from this book and simultaneously read the bible verses at the same time to help grow and strengthen my relationship with God. Truly one of the best books if you are looking to strengthen your relationship with God, your marriage, and your inner self.

This book illustrates God's plan for marriage in a clear, concise manner. It was amazing how much I discovered about marriage (my husband and I have been married for 13 years)! I not only learned things about my husband and his needs, but also how to be the wife God called me to be. It was eye opening to realize all the mistakes I had been making as a wife that caused my husband great pain. My husband says the same of himself: his eyes were opened to the mistakes he made that caused me great pain. With God's help, we have reversed course and now have a strong, vibrant, and fulfilling marriage. I would recommend this book to any couple, and especially engaged couples. If you want to have a strong marriage and you are willing to "look in the mirror" and take responsibility for areas that you need to change, a personal relationship with God and this book can do miracles in your marriage. Yes, I said miracles. I would also highly recommend the "One" devotional written by Jimmy Evans. Although written as a 52 week devotional, my husband and I used it as a daily devotional. Our marriage was in trouble at the time and we were desperate for help. We first turned to God and then went through this book together with open hearts and minds that needed healing. As we read the devotional together, we learned to communicate and each sincerely took responsibility for the areas of our marriage where we created pain for our spouse. We changed those behaviors and the end result was and, still is, amazing!

Jimmy Evans is not only a man after God's heart but very dedicated to God's view of marriage. As well as helping others in their own personal walks in marriage. I strongly and firmly encourage married or unmarried couples, single people for future marriage add this book to audible or purchase for themselves or any family member who may need marriage guidance. Mr. Evans is able to explain everything regarding every issue marriage will encounter and how to explain how Jesus and scripture applies to resolving or encouraging a healthy marriage. I can't say enough good things about this book but I am so appreciative that Mr. Evans obedience to the Holy Spirit to write it will and can actually do what no therapist or human can do. It's really how dedicated you are to letting Jesus heal your marriage or lay the foundation of a marriage to help fight against the odds we all face. Best book ever written after the Holy Bible!!. Along with all Mr. Evans books. Also highly recommend!!!

Loved reading the book. It is for my second marroage, late in life. Great review on how to center God in my marriage. Wish I had it for my first marriage but that marriage lasted 43 years so I didnt do too bad. He passed away in '22 and now I have a second chance in love and want to make it the best I can. Great for newly weds, also those thinking on marriage or anytime you want to make life together better. Lots of counseling advice for many different issues in a married life centering on God.

Wow what a powerfully awesome journey in reading this book. The transparency of the author is truly a blessing of how God can heal your the wounded. I’ve had to privilege to learn from many word of wisdom through many different books, seminars, retreats and the like. But the information within this treasure chest entitled “Marriage on the Rock” is uplifting and inspiring to read. From start to finish, you will be encouraged to trust God and live according to Him purpose in life and marriage. One of the best books I’ve had the pleasure to digest. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking ways to enrich your life and marriage. Awesome!

My wife and I review materials for couples, and our son steered us to Jimmy and Karen Evans' book, workbork, and Leader's Guide...all of which we got on Amazon, plue the DVD's. That should tell the reader how much we liked the series. One of the most valuable qualities that this material has is the confessional nature of Jimmy Evans. He can speak effectively to the male, and all the while, keep the females on board with his frank admiration of Karen, who has seen through him, and yet loves him still. Evans is not a 'girlie man'...he seems to be genuine, arrogant, and vain, but he knows it and points out the fallacies of the male point of view. Women can gain tremendous insight into the strong and shallow impulses of men, while men gain an idea about how to really connect with their wife...and daughter...and mother...and boss. My wife and I shared a little about this work to some young married people, and they were impressed. I am too. Blueridge

Excellent. No one should get married without first reading this book. It has contributed to saving our marriage. We have read lots of marriage books and done a marriage course, but this goes deeper and challenges core foundations that contribute to wobbly marriages. Jimmy writes with sensitivity but also realism. He does not take sides and is not afraid to go where others have yet to go. A marriage that is tested and not based on the principles in this book will likely bring you to the point of needing "the rock".
