Access SG-165A3 6.5" 3-Way Component Speakers System (no Grills)

I have owned these for about 4 years now and I paid almost $1000 for them back then and they were worth every penny. Seeing them for $350 is a steal. If you have never heard Focal you are truly missing out. I can crank these up with no distortion whatsoever. These are the greatest set of speakers I have ever owned. They are still going strong and I look forward to many years of truly listening to music the way it is meant to be listened to. Highly recommended!

Just as described, very happy

Before this set I had Eclipse's SC8365 3 way components. The woofer on the Eclipse set was much beefier. It had a magnet about twice the size as the one on this Focal set. I feel I get just as much, if not more, midbass from this set than that Eclipse set. Though I feel the Eclipse set would have had much more midbass if I had bi-amped the set. One of my speakers blew on my Eclipse set, so I shot for this Focal set as I didn't have much to spend on a set. I had never heard any Focal products in person, but I've only read good things about them so I took a shot in the dark. This is by far a superior set of speakers to the Eclipse 3 way components. The highs are much crisper, and much more detailed without being as hard. I believe the inverted dome tweeter is a much superior technology to dome tweeters, as I have heard 3 different levels of German Maestro sets that all have them and it is the same result; crisp, detailed highs without the harshness. I also get a lot better mid range. The sounds of drums are very snappy and accurate. For $350 I am more than impressed with this speaker system. There might be a better set for the price, but this one won't disappoint. Hoping someday to upgrade to their 165VR3 polyglass set.

I had a bit of hesitation selecting this 3 way setup for my 2009 Cayman S as there were a number of options out there. In the end the Focal brand, its good reviews, and the relatively budget minded price won out. I had some concern if I was not spending enough to get the quality sound I was after for my audio upgrade project. After having this setup in the car for 3 weeks I'm absolutely satisfied and pleased with the quality of the sound it provides when used in combination with a Polk D5000.5 amplifier and generous sound deadener application. The tweeters are a touch too bright for my taste but overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I have a 05 Ford Escape I have focal three ways in all my doors, I used JL amps and JL W7 13 inch sub. I find the focal are the best speakers on the market my opinion. With a JL amps and the focal system sounds awesome.
