The Right Tool For The Right Job
I have a KMC chain with a KMC "Missing Link". I've switched over to waxing my chain with paraffin and PTFE powder (totally clean and awesome) so I need to be able to take my chain on and off regularly. I've been told that Connex Master Links are the best because they are able to lock and unlock with no tools. But I've also been warned by numerous bike repair techs to not mix one brand of chain with another brand of Master Links, that it can lead to failure and accidents. Don't know if this is true or not, but I don't want to find out. I have noticed that the Connex Master links are longer than the KMC "Missing Link" and links on the chain. I don't know if this matters, but my instinct says not to mess with it. So, hence the need for this Park tool. You can lock and unlock the KMC Missing link with your hands, but it absolutely a pain in the ass. KMC makes two different tools, one for unlocking and one for locking. This is a bit crazy when you can , instead, buy this Park tool for less money than the two KMC tools, and.... ...IT WORKS PERFECTLY for both locking and unlocking the master link. So if you have any brand of chain with a Master Link, other than Connex (where you don't need any tool) this is the tool to have. It's well designed, sturdy, and as I said, works easily and perfectly. Don't hesitate to buy it.

Love it
Yeah, I mean technically you can do what needs to be done without this tool. But it's under $20 and it's so much faster and easier. Why not just take one more thing off your plate and get the right tool for the job? Park Tool is amazing, their tools are top notch. Consider me a super fan.

A Snap
Quality tool which worked as intended. Once you have your chain the correct length (for which you need a chain tool), this tool makes the closure a snap (literally).

Great tool: it’s Park after all!
A must for bike maintenance. You can get your master link off and installed using other tools, but if you would like to do this on the first try, every time: this is the tool for you.

Good tool.
It gets the job done. Can’t complain. Good quality. If you wax your chain, you might use this tool often.

I finally sprung for the Park tool
Yes it works, very well in fact, I used it on a narrow Shimano ultegra chain, and it handled the quick link perfectly. I had tried the cheaper knock off version, but finally sprung for the genuine Park tool. Glad I have it, no more struggles with the chain.

Very simple but O.K
Wish there was a screw to hold the two parts but instead there is some sort of metal press the doesn't look so durable . That is why I took one star. The fact that it is simple is pros not cons The plier metal itself looks o.k - It is a parktool - That is your insurance and I have read that such item from other companies tend to bend.
