Its a little thicker than usual - which is great for my large hands and definitely fills my hand better than replacement handles I'b bought in the past. The grip is nicely contoured and its very comfortable.It comes with one wooden wedge and two metal ones... exactly what you need to form a strong bond with your tool, and the head end is unusually large, so you can fit it to almost any hammer head with a utility knife and maybe a little sand paper (Did you really expect any handle would come perfectly fitted for whatever random head you're sticking it into???)Some reviewers dislike it because it's not polyurethaned, and if you're an occasional user, or just want pretty things hanging in your garage next to your paint scraper and wet-vac attachments, then I guess that's a valid criticism, but I use my hammers at work every day and polyurethaned handles increase fatigue because they're more slippery so you have to hold them tighter.If you feel the need to slather your tools with polyurethane, then you have that option, knock yourself out. But I'll take an unfinished handle lightly coated in linseed oil every day of the week.For me, this handle ticks all the boxes... its stout, got just the right contour and it doesn't force me to sand off all the plastic before I can use it.
