Spend the money and get a US brand!
I was looking for a pencil for my 7 year old son which was dark enough to be able to read. I honestly can’t tell you if these pencils are dark. The tips broke the first and last time he used them. I would not recommend these to anyone else!

Very smooth writing!
I love the texture. I have a professional sharpener and that makes a lot of difference in the strength and uniformity of the point. Even so, it's a pleasure to write with, and that helps my penmanship. If only it were a little darker, it would be perfect!
