I attached it to a telescoping camera tripod (tool comes with mounting holes) and used it to install over 20 shelves of various sizes on 6 walls in my basement entertainment area. It was so fast lining up a shelf while on a ladder. I wasn’t constantly reaching for a level to check for level and plumb. This tool’s finest moment was while putting multiple small shelves that were “stacked” on top of each other up both walls of an inside corner. Lining up all the shelf brackets vertically up both walls so they were perfectly level was actually enjoyable because it was so easy while standing on a ladder. **Q: Are the laser lines supposed to be solid?  Mine are constantly flickering when the unit is on.**
A: The laser lines will flicker when the level is tilted more than 3 degrees out of level horizontally or vertically. This is to make you aware that the self-leveling feature may be compromised and not giving an accurate reading because the unit is tilted too much in one direction or another. Unfortunately, that is the nature of all self-leveling laser units, no matter who the manufacturer. For them to display their laser lines accurately the unit must be sitting at a plane within 3-4 degrees of the one you wish to check for level, which for a horizontal line means you almost have to have the laser unit at the same height as the line you're checking for level.

**Q: I’m mounting a shelf on the wall about 2 feet from the ceiling. Can I use this leveler to auto-level the shelf that high?**
A: It won't auto level at that angle, but what I do is put it on a tripod, aim straight ahead and let it autolevel, and tighten the tripod wand. Then turn the switch to manual, carefully untighten the tripod wand and aim it up to the target. It still could be slightly off at the new angle but probably not detectably.

**Q: Can I use this to find high spots on a basement ground?**
A: Yes, if you use a ruler or tape measure to measure from the floor to the horizontal beam. High spots will give lower measurements.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works Well, But Height Adjustment Is Limited

I purchased this laser level for a small home project, and overall it works well. The lines are clear and accurate, which made leveling my picture much easier. One thing to note is that adjusting the height isn’t very convenient without a tripod. I had to stack boxes and place the unit on top just to get the horizontal line where I needed it. It worked, but it wasn’t the most practical setup. Overall, it’s a good tool for small projects, but I would definitely recommend using it with a tripod for better ease and precision.
