Really nice blade
I have never fleshed a hide before and this one seemed to work great. I have now done four hides and I have no complaint about the blade. It seems to be a good size for pressure and clearance.

Outstanding Product
Great hide flesher and grainer, this is the best one I’ve found anywhere online, the only way you could get a better one is if you had it custom made. The brand I used in the past is twice the price (even though it’s made from recycled materials) and it’s handles are thin instead of round, resulting in sore tired hands after working a whole hide. I love that this tool has good sized round handles, and so far seems very well made. I piled the handles well before use (just with olive oil) because the wood is raw. My only complaint is that the second one I ordered was vastly sharper than the first, it looks like the blade had been cut different or was not finished, and I had to spend a good amount of time getting it to be dull enough for working hides. Otherwise, this is the hide tool I’ll recommend to my students and peers for now on! Just be sure to check that the blade is full enough before getting into a hide

Works great
Really easy to use, great price, sharpness is good for fleshing i found if it was any sharper it would cut through the hide, functions better than expected. Only down fall is needs to be dried right away after use as it'll rust right away

Sturdier than expected
My knife arrived today as promised and it is surprisingly better quality than I expected. I will put it to the test either tomorrow afternoon or Saturday.

Check your blade before use.
The fleshing knife works as it should. It arrived with a large burr on the blade which caused some damage to the first skin I used it on. Thankfully I was still learning and it was a sub far fur anyway. Took care of the burr and it works great.

For when your buddy gives you a hide from the hunt.
So... we got these hides from a hunter buddy of mine. We took one look at them, did some quick research and threw them in the freezer. Then we promptly got on here and bought this fleshing knife. My son and I haven't started to deflesh (if that is the correct term) the meat from the hide yet. But this knife looks like it will help quite a bit. It is fairly heavy and fairly sturdy. The blade seems sharp enough but we may decide to sharpen it a bit more once we start using it. Ok. we have used this thing. We have loved it. This thing did the job perfectly. We had an antelope skin and were able to flesh the skin and turn it into buckskin. The knife was sharp enough and worked perfectly. It did not poke holes into our skin.

Standard fleshing knife for a DIY. Just so dull it's disappointing. So dull that it's hard to sharpen. Ended up buying an Ulu knife and using that. Slower but worked 100% better.

When I first read the reviews, I saw mention of the knife not being very sharp. I was skeptical of this and thought that the knife needed to be at the right angle and then it would work. I've tried this knife on two different pelts and you need to use an immense amount of pressure, and it still comes out quite rough and dirty.

I was expecting it to come sharpened and ready to use.
