Haden Devon Black Kettle

It goes well with the kettle. Well packaged with instructions and a chance to extend the one year warranty. Looks old fashioned but it has the crumb tray at the back. The black buttons large enough to be seen and used Lights blue when in use has a defrost and heat up function. Bit pricey but didn't mind as looks fab in the kitchen. Good weight, sturdy and well made. Kingsmill bread fits perfectly and zero noise but a slight smell when using the first time but it disapates after a couple of uses.

This toaster, I bought because it’s British made. I’m not particularly impressed, as it takes so long to toast bread, that it dries it out too much. We have an old Dualit one which doesn’t look great, but I think I’ll buy a new one of those now, as it works a lot better, and you can lift the toast up to check if it’s done, which you can’t on this one. But this toaster looks so cool! I love the look of it, so I’m quite disappointed to let it go. The price of this toaster is good though compared with the Dualit one. It also seems very good quality, and sturdy. Shame it doesn’t toast well!

Beautiful toaster

Had this toaster for several weeks and am very happy with it. It looks really good, is easy to use, toasts evenly and the bread fits in the slots without any problems (Hovis thick slices). The only slight downside is that it toasts one side of the bread more than the other so I tend to do one side first and then flip it over and do the other, but I had to do the same with my previous toaster so wouldn't really consider it a problem and it only takes a minute to do. Would definitely recommend this.

The product looks nice but I'm not happy with it at all as a family toaster. It toasts unevenly so you get burnt toast on one side of the piece of bread and lightly toasted on the other side. I don't think it's too much to ask for to have toast which is edible on both sides! There is also a rim around the top which looks decorative but crumbs get trapped between the metal and plastic. They don't come out easily, even when scrubbed with a toothbrush. Not a happy customer and really disappointed considering how long I spent reading reviews trying to find a nice new toaster. Wish I had gone for a cheaper option that actually works properly.

Really pretty and works well (so far). Goes well with the matching toaster for that modern farmhouse look. The only thing I'd mention (as I did with the kettle review), is to find a power adaptor for these and make sure it isn't upside down, as most are (see pics here - they look ridiculous in our Aussie powerpoints). This has nothing to do with the kettle (or toaster), but if you're in Australia, you will need an adaptor for this toaster - just make sure the cord is facing down, not up like this one is in the pics. I really love my toaster and kettle set, they make me very happy! :)
