Function vs Quality
I purchased and received the assist version of SportsRoyals power tower on Dec 16, 2023. I’m am writing this review 2 weeks after I assembled and started using it. Before purchase I had read most of the recent and top rated reviews and found them very insightful. But, I also noticed opinions varied based on expectation, fitness routine and stature. so, this is my 6 foot 225 pound moderately active opinion. The shipping box looked smaller than expected and weighted 86 pounds. The contents were tightly and securely packed. There is no user guide, and what many people have reported as terrible assembly instructions is really an exploded view of components. So, it helps with assembly but not well. I struggled until I realized the manufacture put an assembly video on Amazon. Short and not perfect but, using it in conjunction with the so-called assembly instructions, it was understandable. From the time I moved the shipping box into the house, assembled and cleaned up afterwards 4 hours had passed. I took my time, made no mistakes and used every part and fastener supplied. I’d call success. When looking at pictures that some reviewers have submitted, I noticed equipment structure was not always of the same design. Those reporting the most shake or flex where made with round tubular steel frames. Strong but hard to attach support arms to. The one pictured and I received was made with squared tubular steel and has an “H” style base. Not the triangular base some pictures show. Guessing the manufacture has recently re-designed the tower to address stability (Shake and Flex). The Amazon site says the tower supports 440 pounds, however, the so-called assembly instruction states 330 pounds. Could it be the result of the re-design? I can confirm that the top pull-up bar connection does creak under my weight as reported, but it doesn’t bother me or seem excessive or dangerous. I included a video. Notice there is minimal flexing. A result of the squared tubular steel I suspect. The steel is thinner than I expected which became noticeable during assembly. Do not tighten the bolts beyond tightly snug or the tubular steel will start to buckle-in. To be fair I have a tendency to over torque everything. I compared this tower with the commercial brand Hoist. There is no comparison in quality. The Hoist is many times stronger but also many times more expensive. Actually 4 times more with no assist. The questions is, when is strong, strong enough. The SportRoyal would never hold up in a commercial fitness center. But probably good enough for my home gym. I needed the pull-up assist to get my muscles started, and it functions as others have said. Not the smoothest movement but, it does what it’s meant to do. However, the seat is completely and totally in the wrong position for assisted dips. Online specifications say each of the 4 assist bands is 22 Lbs, 88 total. I tested this by placing two 45 pound weight lifting plates on the seat. This 90 pounds lowered the seat 75% of the way down. Removing 1 plate, 45 Lbs, raised the seat 75% of the way back up. So, I would call this spec accurate and not bad for functioning with bungees. Prior to purchase I could not figure out how the assist seat converted to a back support. So, I included the change-over in the video. Easy to do after a couple of tries. The manufacturer must have been concerned that the pulleys on the assisted seat bungee system would bottom out and get damaged. So, they included what they’re calling an anti-crash support. A rod that stick up from the H base frame. I included it in the video. Easy to remove or install but very dangerous. If you forget to remove it and you lose grip when the seat is in the backrest position, you could impaled yourself. In conclusion: The manufacturer designed a functional and well thought out power tower that gives me the exercises I wanted, accept for assisted dips. The build quality is consistent with what I expected for home equipment. The relatively low cost and light weight allowed me to try, lift and afford the purchase. I don’t expect the assist bungee system to last forever, but, it should last long enough until I don’t need it anymore. There are no other low cost towers with assist that I could find. Yes the top pull-up bar can be set at several heights but don’t expect it to be a regular adjustment, it’s too difficult for that. Also, the assisted seat travel length is fixed which makes the pull-up bar height dependent on it. All-in-all I would purchase this power tower again.

Very sturdy - nice product.
I'm very pleased - this is a nice bit of equipment. I chose it over others because of the weight - over 60 Lbs vs 50 lbs or less for most of the lesser priced units. It's mainly because the tubing is thicker on this unit - 2mm vs 1.5mm for most others. Even the 2mm is not all that heavy duty, those others must be like tin foil. I have seen others mention wobble but that must be due to improper assembly or uneven floor surface, because this is very sturdy with no wobble at all and I weigh 185 lbs. Instructions are WAY overcomplicated, the single most important keys to assembling this are just the two base pieces and the 2 upright pieces labeled L and R. Step 1 should just be mount upright L to one of the base pieces (base pieces are identical, use either) by inserting the 4 mounting bolts from the BOTTOM of the base piece and lining up those bolts with the holes in the upright piece L. Start the lock nut onto those mounting bolts so they don't slip out of place, then turn that section (now a unit comprised of the base piece plus the upright piece) onto it's side and TIGHTEN ALL 4 BOLTS as tightly as you can. Repeat that with the other base piece and upright R. Now you have the critical foundation already lined up and very secure - those two base pieces and the two uprights L and R form the "skeleton" to which the rest of the unit can be attached and tightened. Step 2 would be to place those two sections L and R you just assembled across from each other (obviously you want to keep the L and R on the correct side) and maneuver the bracing bars into place. One person can EASILY do this, the L and R sections you firmly assembled are very stable. You can just slide them on the floor as needed to get the spacing required to position the bracing bars into place. Insert the mounting bolts for each of those bracing bars but DON'T tighten them completely yet. THEN you put all the other pieces onto the "skeleton" and tighten EVERYTHING as tightly as possible. The instructions tell you to mount the arms and pads first, and to NOT tighten the base until the end of the assembly but the problem with that is once you get all the pieces together it is impossible to keep things in line as you tighten the bolts for the base because you HAVE to be able to access the BOTTOM of it and you can imagine trying to tilt that entire assembly from side to side to reach those bolts, OF COURSE it is never going to be stable because everything is flopping around as you try to tighten all the bolts! Do it the way I point out and as long as your floor surface is level you should have a very solid unit indeed. My unit fit together very well and is solid as a rock. I am very happy, glad I spent a little extra to get a heavier unit and I cannot imagine this will not last me as long as I need it. Well worth the money.

Great low cost option for home gym
I bought this power tower after reading reviews and watching YouTube videos. I got a good deal on it at $119. I have a lower ceiling in my basement so I was looking for something with an adjustable back height. It came in a box while wrapped all the pieces were there no damage with clear instructions. We checked to make sure all the pieces were there before we started assembling it. Also, you should not tighten the screws until you're fully assembled it which is what the instructions tell you to do. It was easy to assemble and took under an hour. It is very sturdy and level even on carpet. For the people in our house we have a wide variety of height and weights and it's worked for everybody (ranging from 5'1" to 6'5" and from 110 pounds to 220 pounds). It's great to supplement a basic gym at home and work on your core. The only downside for the smaller people in the house is the arm pads on either side are a bit wide, but still within range. I was hesitant to buy this because of the low cost, but it's a great value for the money. And we save the instructions so if we ever move, it'll be easy to disassemble and reassemble. There's no wobbliness and no creaking or noises when it's in use.

Superior Quality!
Solid and sturdy. My husband is 6 feet tall and 230 lbs. Works perfect for him. I use for hanging leg raises. I'm 5'5", its a little tall for me so we use a stair stepper. Padding and grip is very nice. Easy to assemble and use. It fits in our small gym. Safe and stable even on carpet and rubber flooring.

This thing seems well worth what I paid for it.
I have had this power tower for almost two weeks now and tonight was the first time I got to really get in a good workout on it. Despite what other reviews may say I have found it to be incredibly sturdy and stable. I weigh 255 pounds and I can stand on the middle bar and do negative chin ups of a sort where I let my arms all the way out and hang forward off of the machine, then curl my biceps to bring myself back up to the bar. I'm working my way up to doing real chin ups but this is all I can manage right now at my starting point. The moral of the story though is that the machine does not feel tippy at all until I get all the way out from the bar, and then it still doesn't really move. I am not recommending that anyone do this particular move, just demonstrating the stability of the unit. Dips do not really flex the dip handles. They seem sturdy and secure. I kind of wish there was a low bar of some kind for doing Australian rows but that's just because it seems more like doing a pull up. I have been doing the Australian rows with the dip handles anyway and I definitely feel that it's working out my back. One day I will be able to do real pull ups but we all gotta start somewhere. The roman chair for doing leg lifts is one of the main reasons that I purchased this piece of equipment. I have minor back issues and traditional sit ups or crunches really make my back seem to lock up in some very unpleasant way. With this machine I can get a better ab workout and it doesn't seem to bother my back nearly as much as crunches. One negative is that the uprights that hold the pull up bar seem to limit the grip variation available on the tower. I can do wide pull up position and chin up position but as a large framed man I cannot do a close grip pull up on the machine. This is a really moot point as I can't do a close hand pull up anyway but may be interesting to some. I had no trouble whatsoever assembling the unit in about forty minutes with minimal references to the instructions. This is not the first time I have ever held a tool so YMMV. This is my first power tower and the very beginning of my journey with calisthenics so I don't really know what I'm doing but I feel like I got a very decent price on a very decent piece of equipment that should serve me well for a long time. I am entirely confident that repeated and prolonged use of this power tower could be beneficial to my health. Buying it won't do anything for you. You actually have to use the thing.

Amazing value for the money
I bought this pull up bar station almost 4 years ago and it's still holding up to regular use. It's really stable, I've never even felt a slight wobble while using it (this may be weight dependent, I'm only around 120lbs). It's really high quality for the price, and was easy to assemble. I do landscaping for work so I need a way to stay strong through the winter, this station helps me strengthen/maintain a bunch of different muscles with just one piece of equipment.

Good quality. Great customer service. Few comments on the design.
Good quality equipment and excellent customer service. Overall, seems like a solid product that I do not regret purchasing. Feedback for the design: 1. The pull-up bar isn't out forward enough. My legs/knees hit the back pad at the top height of a pull-up. Still happens with the back pad pushed all the way back. 2. The horizontal floor support bar is right under the feet where you land on it after doing a pull-up. Hurts to land on. 3. The arm dip bars are wobbly in the vertical plane regardless of how tight the bolts are. Would be better if there was one more bolt securing it in place or more precise fitting.

Good quality but not a smooth assist
First off the product was packaged extremely well and once put together it was very sturdy. I like how there is multiple different exercises I can accomplish on it. However the instructions are hard to understand. Meaning that yes it labels some of the screw parts you use within each step but not how many and the screw needed in the picture is so small that it is hard to see what direction it goes. On top of that just step 1 and step 2 in the instruction booklet don’t match the video in the product description. The instructions show to install the base bracket and base connector first but the video shows to do the virtual tubes with the base brackets first. Plus the instructions show to install the M10*65 screw with washer at the bottom of the base brackets and the nut on top of the bracket but the video shows them installing one facing up and one facing down and then the next clip of the finished connection in the video shows them all installed facing down. Very inconsistent. So the instruction booklet and the instruction video do not match at all right from the start. Some of the preinstalled roller wheels on the assist assembly roll while the others do not. In my case, 2 of the 4 wheels on the left pole rolls while the other 2 don’t budge. Same issue on the right pole. I tried losing up the screw/nut and tried some lubricant but didn’t resolve it. The assist is not smooth at all. It’s very jerky going up and it doesn’t lift you back to the top where you started. Something I’ll have to get used to as compared to the commercial model machines as the gym that lift all the way up and down with ease with you. All that aside it’s a very nice machine for the price. You get what you paid for. Will continue to use this in my current weekly routine.

Great home gym piece for push-ups and similar
The package came a bit damaged, but nothing would really hurt the content, so it did not matter. A couple of pieces were scratched slightly, felt like something has been assembled before. The bolts and other paraphernalia is packaged into a thick plastic form that will require some serious scissors. Honestly, taking all pieces out took most effort. Metal pieces are all hollow inside, so they clank quite loudly. Main complaint (which has already been pointed out here, so I was prepared) is that steel is not 2 mm thick. I did not have the right tool, but it was obvious. Somewhere around 1.6 mm is what it really is. As a result, it is less sturdy than advertised, but still enough for most exercises around for 70 kg body weight. My primary goal was to get a stable pull up bar that would not fall off or break through wooden frame of the door, and it looks like this one works just fine. Dips and leg raises are a bonus, but I wouldn't put more weight on. Push-up handles are an extra, but not sure why you would need them. They are only connected to the base on one side, which scares me a little - if it breaks under load, bye-bye fingers. It was a bit tricky to attach handles with armrests, the holes do not align that well, plus there is some movement under load. Not sure if it is by design, I don't like too much movement in the joints where the bolts are involved, but it seems to hold so far. Overall happy, the price is justified if you take into account multi-functionality. I understand that higher quality would raise the price quite a bit. Delivery process was a bit mysterious, before ordering it was promised in less than 2 weeks, then the estimated date was much longer, and item was never in the transit. Suddenly it came on the date originally promised. Pros: - Wide and stable base, no risk of tipping over - Does not bend or swing too much at 75 kg - Armrest angle is a nice touch - Backrest is big enough - Easy to assemble by one person Cons: - Thin steel, whole frame starts moving quite a bit over 80 kg - Some unwanted movement in the armrest handles (bolt holes do not align well) - The horizontal bar in the bottom is getting in a way sometimes, would prefer having it a bit higher. - Location and material of pads on the pull-up bar are questionable. I wouldn't mind having all of it padded, or none.

Great bit of equipment
This is a great bit of equipment, I bought the version with the pulley assist for kids and wife to help them get to a pull up. The construction is solid heavy duty steel and thick screws. When assembled there is a bit of give here and there but nothing that would cause any concerns whatsoever. Build time took 2 hours with the tools provided. All the nuts and bolts were in neat separated packaging, so nothing to loose in the build mess. The instructions were fine to follow, the only tricky bit was getting head around the pulley system but it's self explanatory once you see the bits. The features are everything you need for a body weight session, pull up, dips, leg raises and a push up bar at the bottom. Full body work out without the need for weights. Swapping the seat from assist mode to leg raises position takes about 1 min so no bother at all. Changing the level of pulley assist is a little bit fiddly but really easy. There are 4 levels of assist. The extendable pull up bar is great for adapting to allow kids to have a go. Changing the position involves unscrewing the bolts and repositioning, then rescrewing which is slightly frustrating (2-3 mins) but it's a nick pick. Overall, really happy with it and would highly recommend if you want to improve your body weight training regime to become functionally fitter rather than just muscular.
