Wood Cabinet Cribbage Set

If you're looking for a travel set of games to easily take with you on the go, this is such a versatile set to have! The deck of cards alone offers almost an infinite number of games to play, and the cribbage board gives you the added bonus of being able to take this one very enjoyable card game with you, too. The dice, likewise, give you so many possibilities of games to play, and the instruction manual demonstrates a few clever games I hadn't even heard of before. The craftsmanship of this set isn't world class by any means, but it's decent enough. When unfolded, the two halves of the cribbage board, which is otherwise sturdy, is a bit uneven on the hinges, but the slightly wonky unfolded shape isn't going to prevent you in any way from using it. The deck of cards is as cheaply generic as you can get, but they still do what cards ought to do, and, so long as you're not unduly rough in handling them, they'll get the job done without any fuss; I just wouldn't recommend using them as your everyday deck. The included storage bag certainly holds all the materials, the deck of cards, the cribbage board (with pegs stored in a small compartment at the bottom), the dice, and the manual, perfectly well and in a compact size that is easily portable. (Trying to get everything back in the box is like getting toothpaste back in the tube, but who needs the box when you have the bag that does the job perfectly well?) The manual will teach you to play cribbage if you've never played before, and some of the other ideas for card and dice games are clever, while others don't seem like they'd be much fun. In any event, cards and dice offer so many possibilities for games that the opportunities are almost limitless. If you play cribbage and want an easily portable set, this is a good set at a good price. If you don't play cribbage, however, you can get a simple deck of cards or a set of dice for cheaper, and that's pretty much all you'd need, anyway.

~What do you get? ~ The main draw: The cribbage board - This was the main reason I purchased this set. I wanted a nice portable cribbage board I could carry around with me with a deck of card for quick pick-up games. The board itself is fantastic, made of smooth, well sanded wood, solid hinges, and just all around fantastic craftsmanship for the price. The pegs included are metal (a plus) and the peg holding area is secure. The pegs fit into the drilled holes comfortably. I've uploaded a picture of the board next to a deck of Bicycle cards and a pen for size comparison. It's lightweight and I can barely feel it when I carry it around with me. I imagine this would be the ideal board for a backpacker. The extras: Dice - The dice are wood and of pretty good quality. I didn't purchase this set with the intent of receiving and using the dice, but they're a great addition to the cribbage board. Cards - The cards surprised me. They're slick, plastic coated, and have a good slide. They spread well when flourished. They're certainly not the best cards in the world, but for what I'd consider as an add-on item to the set, they're pretty impressive. A linen bag - The bag is nice. I'll likely never use it again for these items, but I may use it as a sprouter for alfalfa seeds. It's good quality so if that's important for you as part of this purchase, rest assured it's worth it. ~Conclusion~ Over all, I purchased this set solely for the portable cribbage board. The board alone exceeds my expectations for the cost, and the extras are just icing on the cake. You really can't go wrong for the price they're asking.

I bought this to take on a recent trip. It’s the perfect size to play on an airplane tray table and doesn’t take up much room in your bag. I was surprised at the quality of the playing cards- I was expecting really cheap, hard to shuffle cards. The pegs are metal not cheap plastic. There are only two rows so you can’t have a third player and you have to travel around the board twice to get to 120 points. The only downside is there are no markings on the board.

This is a wonderful little travel cribbage set. My husband and I used it on our last 2 trips to Europe and the Panama Canal. This was actually my second purchase of this set. It was a little gift for my daughter and her fiancé. They’re going to Italy in September and they love cribbage. This set is small but it’s very well made and all of the components are good quality. The pouch is a game changer since we’ve used it for travel.

OVERALL The dice, cribbage board and cards all fit in a drawstring purse that measures 4" x 5" x 2" when everything is inside. The set comes with a well-written instruction booklet that has all of the rules of cribbage, plus a few other fun games that can be played with the included pieces. THE BOARD Is a well-constructed wood board with a metal hinge and metal peg keeper on the back. When extended, it measures about 7.5" x 2" x .5". The pegs are sturdy metal and they fit will int he holes. When folded, the board measures about 1" x 2" x 4". It's perfect for travel, or for playing at home (I prefer not to have my game closet take up too much space). A full game of cribbage requires that each player go around his track twice. If all you're looking for out of your cribbage set is ascethically pleasing functionality and score keeping, then this is perfect for you. THE CARDS Measure 2.5" x 3.5" by .75" -- it's a standard small deck. Both my boyfriend and I were able to shuffle them (and we could even bridge!). They're well made and I expect them to last a long time. 2 jokers and 4 suits. THE DICE Super cute, wooden dice. Light weight, standard size, and similarly well made. I would recommend this set to anyone looking to travel with it or to have a smaller game closet. And with the price...how can you go wrong?!

Une planche de cribbage au prix défiant toute concurrence. Et dans un format voyage. C'est ce dernier point qui m'intéressait, bien plus que les dés et le jeu de cartes made in china livrés avec. La qualité est suffisante pour l'usage que je lui réserve (jouer au cribbage pendant mes vacances ou dans l'avion) mais il ne faut pas s'attendre à un produit de luxe non plus. Point important, la planche n'a que 61 trous, et non 121 ! Il faudra donc en faire 2 fois le tour, sauf si vous jouez avec les (étranges) règles fournies qui proposent un cribbage à 5 cartes jusqu'à 61 points, soit disant "le plus classique" alors que je ne connais que la version à 6 cartes (5 cartes uniquement à 4 joueurs) et jusqu'à 121 points. Et ils gratifient de 3 points le non dealer à la première manche (jamais vu ça non plus) et récompensent de 3 points une couleurs (4 avec la cut card) là où normalement c'est plutôt 4 points (5 avec la cut card). Bref. Comme résumé dans le titre, ça ira quand même :-)

Qualité bof , mais vu que c'est exactement le même que quand j'y jouais étant petite du coup je suis heureuse de l'avoir à nouveau et de pouvoir montrer à mon fils .
