Hannex RCTJ400S Ceramice Rice Cooker, 4 L, White

i bought this rice cooker only last Nov. 2015, and after 3 1/2 months use the ceramic broke!!..I was heating the rice and after a while i head a "pop" and when i check the ceramic broke!!...this cooker is expensive and very poor quality..... very disappointed!!

I am sorry to have to give a poor review. However, there are some serious drawbacks. The ceramic coated inner pot is a great idea to avoid teflon coatings, but it takes a long time to cook and you can't leave the rice on warm for long because the rice will turn brown on the bottom of the pot. Looks like the inner pot is too heavy a material and takes a long time to heat up and then retains a lot of heat after cooking. Other than that it seems to be OK.

The cooker appears to work fine. No complaints. However, one of the reasons I bought this was silly. It was for the very Japanese design -- the large letters and rice bowl whom on the picture. I just liked it. I make a lot of rice, and wanted this big beast to sign on my counter-top I'm a single guy. When the cooker showed up with only 1970's-style white flowers instead, I thought the design was not exactly ugly but not something I'd ever have chosen from a style standpoint. But anyway it cooks rice just fine.

I have two of these cookers. I have the smaller one and the larger. They are easy to use and always cook up tasty fluffy rice. I have cooked Japanese Black Rice, Brown rice, Sticky rice, wild rice and Quinoa in them. The recipe for ratios seems to work for all of them. I.E. following the guidelines for regular rice. -- The Black rice, I followed the recipe on the package, adding more water. It turned out great. I have nothing but good to say about this product. I treat the ceramic bowl gently, always washing by hand and using hot water if it is still warm. The larger cooker whistles from the steam vent when it cooks, (not sure why, but it is not unbearable. after all you don't have to stand and watch it cook). the small one is quiet. I am happy not to have metal and teflon as a cooking bowl.

I finally got rid of the old cooker which I've had for over six years. I've heard about ceramic rice cooker, but I wasn't sure if it made that much of a difference from my old cooker. Eventually, I took the plunge and bought the Hannex. No regrets so far. I'm impressed. I would equate the ceramic cooker to my ceramic slow cooker. The rice cooks really good. Just follow the cooking instructions, and you'll get consistent results. The measuring markings along with a small cup takes the guess work out of how much water to use. Wish I bought it sooner. Great buy!

Rice has a little bit burn rice on the bottom of ceramic bowl but I like it because it is ceramic bowl not nonstick bowl. The rice does not stick on the bowl like nonstick bowl. Good seller for replacement the broken.

This unit is as advertised and makes great rice. The ceramic inner will keep my family safe as opposed to the other units (even more expensive units) that use the non-stick technology.

Real healthy cooker, easy to use and clean. However, pretty hot on the side wall surface during cooking, do not touch it.
