Mastic will prevent mold and mildew from forming. **Q: Can I use this over heat tape?** A: No, this isn't designed for heat pipe. You need fiberglass pipe insulation. **Q: Ok. I'm new at this. My a/c pipe has a circumstance of 2 1/2" i divided that by 3.1415 which came to .795.
