After hand washing it a few times I ran it through the dishwasher to sanitize it more thoroughly, the original straw fell near the heating element and melted partially. I don’t like metal straws they are too cold if you use ice. Paper straws fall apart so now to find a replacement reusable straw that don’t freeze my lips if I use Ice. These straws are strong washable, reusable many, many times. There’s a ridge around one end to keep the straw from falling out of the lid should the container spill or tip.
