It dries to a non-removable finish and is dark grey in colour, so it no longer looks great, but it is a totally solid bond. Having used the weld before on outdoor jobs I know this time it will last. It is epoxy glue. Not strong enough to keep door hinge. Buy new hinge is better solution. **Q: Thermostat houseing can you tell me how to fix without welding** A: If edges of break are rough, then use JB weld as instructed. Hold edges together with elastic bands until set, **Q: Would it be a good choice to bond alluminium and copper sheets (for hob spalshback)?** A: I have never tried to bond sheet material but I would think it would be possible but would probably need the sheets, which by their nature will be smooth and shiny, to be keyed to provide grip for the Cold Weld. **Q: Dows the work on Alluinium** A: I used it between a steel pipe and an alloy casting, both surfaces were fully cleaned and roughed up before applying the JB Weld and it worked extremely well.
