The instructions that came with the opener are not too good. The main thing to remember is to just ...
I have had the Pyora wine opener for only a week. I've opened only 3 bottles so far, with no issues. The instructions that came with the opener are not too good. The main thing to remember is to just look at the control switch: DOWN arrow and UP arrow. The direction of the arrow is just the direction you want the corkscrew to go: DOWN into the cork to open the bottle (just keep going until it automatically stops; the bottle will have been opened), and UP to pull the corkscrew out of the cork (until the cork just falls off). The accessories that come with the opener are not super useful to me; I normally just use the bottle's cork as the stopper. I cannot say at the moment how durable this Pyora opener is: Will it still be working OK after a year? My old Rabbit-type (not a real Rabbit opener) lasted 5 years before it broke, but it got really hard to remove the cork in its last years. The real Rabbit opener that I got next broke after about 1 1/2 years. I hope this Pyora opener will last for years, but who knows. I bought the Pyora because it had generally good reviews on Amazon. I've now had this wine opener for nearly 15 months. I've had absolutely no problems with it and it has opened EVERY wine bottle I've used it on. Using the reverser, EVERY cork has also easily come off. I do not leave it charging all the time; I just plug it in once a month to charge for a few hours. Using this regimen the battery has never run out of juice.

Great opener, plenty of power.
I bought this for my wife a few months ago, and have had no issues with opening standard and rubber cork wine bottles. The opener easily powers through, and has only been charged 1 time so far. We have opened close to 30 bottles already and there is no indication a charge is needed yet. The accessories that came with the opener were ok, pretty basic. The base and foil cutter have a small footprint leaving plenty of room for the other appliances under the cabinets. The charger is pretty standard, but is not easily hidden while being used, but again this has only been used 1 time so far. The vacuum top is nice and works easily, but we have not had to store a bottle for any extended period of time, so I cannot say if there is a benefit to using this over just placing the cork back into the top of the bottle. I was looking to purchase another for a gift, but the item is currently not available. We have owned the big box store alternatives, but their quality and power were not on the same level as this product.

THE Best Electric Wine Bottle Opener
This was a gift for my girlfriend. Her previous electric wine bottle opener was some other brand, which only lasted a little over 1 year. The corks just kept getting stuck in it and she had to use a fork to dig them out. I read many reviews all over the Internet on the Pyora Rechargeable Electric Wine Opener, and they were ALL very good reviews. So, I ordered one and gave it to my girlfriend a day or so before Thanksgiving. She absolutely LOVES it and after about 1 week of use, it is still running on its first charge (of the internal battery). She REALLY likes the soft, blue light it emits when she's opening a wine bottle and that it's much quieter than her old opener. She actually giggles every times she uses it, and that alone is worth the price of admission. In short, if you're tired of wasting money on inferior products, I HIGHLY recommend the Pyora Rechargeable Electric Wine Opener. It works perfectly and produces a nice, soft, blue light when it's performing its intended function (removing corks from wine bottles). It works on REAL corks and on synthetic corks, and my girlfriend absolutely LOVES it.

Great opener - works very smoothly.
Wine opener is great! The cutter also works great! The vacuum stopper is poor quality and has already fallen apart and been disposed of. But we didn't buy the set for the stopper so no real big deal. Wine opener works very smoothly and efficiently. The wife loves it and I'm in good standing around the house for now!

This is a great corkscrew; and it is powered.
Several years ago we purchased an exotic and very expensive corkscrew----thinking it would be the last corkscrew we would buy. Wrong!! It simply would not handle the new synthetic wine corks. After considerable searching, we came across the Pyora. Once it arrived, we charged it for 12 hours, but were not sure that it would handle synthetic corks. Amazingly, It smoothly removed the synthetic cork from out favorite cabernet sauvignon amidst our cheers. The corkscrew is very easy to use. Press the bottom part of the toggle switch to remove the cork from the bottle. Press the top part to remove the cork from the corkscrew. Beyond functionality, it is has a simple, well-made, elegant appearance that will enhance any dรฉcor.

Neato lights
I got this for my brother's girlfriend who had mentioned at thanksgiving that she had no way to open up wine bottles aside from my brother man-handling them. It was like the clouds parted and the light fell down upon me. Finally an idea for something to buy her. I had nothing at that point. Nothing. So I chose this set to buy her. It had a few accessories and looked pretty cool with the neat lights. I am happy to report she texted last night to tell me that she loves it, it works great, and now my brother is useless to her. And then she remembered he cooks so I guess it's fine.

One of my favorite kitchen tools..for a while.
I LOVED this set when I first received it! The only issue I had was that the cutter didn't work as well as I had expected. However, I own knives, so it didn't bother me that much. The opener is amazing and super easy to use, the aerator worked perfectly, and the vacuum topper was good (it's a manual pump rather than an electric pump). However, after about a month of use (appx. 2 times/week), the aerator broke, and the vacuum pump stopped working. I took excellent care of all pieces, making sure they were properly cleaned, dried, and returned back to the box after each use. I must say that the opener still works great!

We Love It!
We've had the Pyora Wine Opener for a few weeks now and I can't say enough good things about it. My wife and I are frequent wine drinkers, and we have been looking for something to replace manual wine openers that we have tried. While I usually don't have too much of a problem with manual openers. my wife has always had difficulty with them. We were using the one named after a small furry animal popular popular around Easter time, but because my wife is so short, she couldn't quite get the right leverage while the bottle was on the table. With the Pyora, all she has to do is remove the foil (with the built in foil cover that serves as the base for the unit), place the opener on top and hold the button down. Perfect cork removal every time! Plus, it is a good looking unit; we leave it out on our counter and have had a number of positive comments from guests. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent product.
