It has a wider platform to stand on and it allows the back wheels to swivel and move--really fun for them! It is easy for both of them to adjust the height and can handle sidewalks and even the street pretty well. It can fold in your car for easy transport too. I would caution getting this scooter for younger boys and girls, although their 8 year old sister can handle riding it like a regular scooter.
