Futurama: The Complete Series

At the time of purchasing this box set it was $79.49 to ring in the new year 2014. What a bargin to collect all 8 Volumes in a box set at that price range. I just completed the entire collection of DVD's in about a month, it came a few days early so I immediately began watching when I had the chance. DVD Specifications: Now you remember watching the show when it aires on tv correct? This DVD is SUPER CRISP and shows such vivid detail on your television it feels as though you are actually in the universe of Futurama. The stars light up in space with the ship flying though the abiss at an astonishing viewpoint on your tv that it looks so realistic! The crispness is so vividly detailed that for a DVD you should not have to worry about it being just SD quote on quote! When I first opened my fed ex box the box set came in a rectangular box with the spaceship on front and the banner on the back, inside of the box is another box that holds all 8 Volumes, every season of the show, in their own individual volume case! Each case comes with its own unique album art, (which I won't give away), that is both very artistic and catches the eye. Matt Groening is genius for this art on the DVD cases. And it comes with all 4 movies that the show ever aired. Now they may be cardboard cases, but that is no reason you can't say it is horrible. If you gently take the disk out every time, and place it back into its slot gently everytime, it should last you! I have seen scratch marks start on some disks, but they are minor and as long as you can take care of your things you should be just fine. The DVD cases for the movies come in a regular DVD case so you should be fine with that, the slot for them are the same as the seasons though so just be gentle taking them both out and placing them back in. I ordered my box set from Amazon, and it came with every disk in perfect condition, the inside looked brand new and it was flawless. Fed EX kinda just left the box upside down though on my porch but when I opened the box my Box Set was unharmed, as well with the DVDs inside of it, so I know the box is nonetheless sturdy. Each of these episodes are crisp and show vivid detail of the episodes to a point where you may find things in the show you may never have noticed before when watching it on TV. I noticed something new on one episode I never saw on the TV premiere before. When Futurama ended, I really couldn't believe it! Over the years I've grown in love with this show, how it always came back from the dead and seemed endless, but from the final episode "Meanwhile" it really shows an ending that is permanent. But how it ended was just a marvelous ending so I am happy with the way it ended. I just wish Matt Groening could keep this show going for a long time as it had ended way to prematurely, but as I said "Meanwhile" set everything in place nice and beautifully that it is a perfect ending. As I watched the final episode in beautiful HD I completely cried, it is a beautiful ending and I am blessed to experience the marvel of this show. Matt Groening is a genius that's for sure, hence Futurama, but the way the show is set up and how each characters quirks are shown in your view as a real person, that is deep. Fry, Leela, and the gang may be gone off the air forever, but they will never be forgotton with this box set! I am very satisfied with my purchase, and I know you will be as well once you purchase this for yourselves, you would not be reading this if you weren't wanting to purchase the whole show in a box set. The full series of Futurama is here! This contains all 8 volumes/seasons of Futurama as well as the 4 straight to DVD movies that help give the show a second life after being cancelled the first time. Also comes with a 2014/3014 calender, but all it is really is a long double sided page that is 3 page folded length long. Very cheap, however you're not buying this set for the calendar. Any fan of Futurama should get this set. There is something to consider though... I am very fortunate to recieve my Futurama set from Amazon without any problems. No smashed corners or scratched discs. As some of the other reviews on here states, the product that makes up the boxes containing the DVD's feel cheap. I do agree and feel that they could of used plastic cases instead, yet I really can't complain since my set did not have any flaws which suprised me as the package didn't have any padding (Thanks UPS -_-). I checked every disc and box of every season. Like I said before, I am very fortunate with this set. I also recieved Futurama post cards that came with Bender's Big Score that was not mentioned. I didn't think they would included this. So another +. The box case that covers the whole set is a good sturdy feeling cover unlike the boxes containing the DVDs. I haven't bought a individual season of Futurama since they re-did the seasons over and I do not know if the boxes are made the same as the ones in this box set. I assume they did as I did buy the movies Bender's Big Score and etc. that were made with this material, but IDK if they feel cheap or not if you buy them individually. I did do the math and it is cheaper to buy this complete set as it sits at $114 as I type this review instead of buying each one seperately. I was luckly enough to buy this the week it was $80! Great buy! Yeah I know, I'm a lucky bastid. So, if you are a huge fan of Futurama, I strongly suggest buying this set. Especially if it is less than $114. I recieved a smashed, dented, scratched free set and I'm sure there will be others who will get the same. Of course there will be some that will have some damage, but that risk always comes from ordering online. I strongly suggest you bite if you're on the fence about this. You can always return it if you're unhappy with a damaged product. Hopefully you can snag this at a deal price for $80 like I did. Good Luck!

This set of Futurama discs arrived in excellent condition packed in a box with a few other items I had ordered at the same time. There was no physical damage to the boxset nor its contents. A few of the discs had a few minor surface scratches, presumably from sliding the discs in/out of the cardboard holder. These few very minor scratches did not affect play at all, and I've bought really scratched discs before that still played well. This scratching might be a problem though for those that would play these discs frequently and take them out frequently, but who would hassle with THAT these days. I found only one loose disc while removing the holder, but I was careful with each and it didn't have a chance to drop on the floor. It took me an entire day to rip all these discs to my media server. I didn't experience any read errors on any of the discs. The boxset I will pack away for safe keeping along with my other frequently watched shows, like Family Guy, King of the Kill, the Simpsons, American Dad, and a few others (like the Beavis & Butt-head set, etc.). I like to have all these shows instantly available in a randomized playlist which I like to turn on while doing the dishes or folding the laundry or when just cleaning. It's just something that makes me laugh and passes the time along while getting things done. I really like the artwork on these disc cases and I may scan a couple and print them out as posters to hang on my home theater wall .. assuming I can match the colors exactly. The "color" artists that worked on this series did a great job, which really adds to the quality and ambiance of these shows. The 2 screen shots (Bender in the kitchen, and Bender the hobo) were captured while watching these shows on my phone and are from earlier 4:3 format shows but widened to 16:9. They look good to me for 4:3. The newest shows are 16:9. Also be advised that the 4 feature length movies are actually Season 5. And some of the discs are digitally named incorrectly. They transposed the use of SEASON and VOLUME incorrectly, i.e. Volume 5 discs are (digitally) entitled Season 5, which is wrong .. the 4 movies were Season 5. But the printing on everything is correct. Just keep this in mind if you catalog your discs by reading them with software. Volume 5 is not Season 5. Very pleased with this purchase.

Anyone who is a fan of Futurama, or who likes good comedy for that matter, should buy this product. The show is nothing less than brilliant. Edgier than the Simpsons, but still more tasteful than South Park, the show blends amazing music and scenery with a great storyline in each sidesplitting episode. The actual product, i.e. Bender's head containing the DVDs, is perfect for those seeking to get the most out of this show. 1) For one thing, the product contains all the episodes prior to the series 2010 return to television. Call me a pessimist, but I am not sure how long these guys can continue to maintain their quality. I sincerely hope that they do, but in the event that they can't, you should be secure in the knowledge that every episode contained within this product is golden. 2) The DVDs contain extra features like deleted scenes and audio commentary by the actors, composers, directors, producers etc. The audio commentary is by far my favorite since you get to hear some interesting facts about each individual episode that may have eluded you. Plus, it is very interesting to notice the kind of jokes that the creators find amusing. Finally, it is a treat to hear the actors weave their characters' voices into their conversations in the commentary, essentially giving the audience some tidbits that are spontaneous and entertaining. 3) This might be a bit nitpicky, but the visual and audio quality is much better than that of episodes on TV. I became fully aware of the beautiful coloring and some almost indistinct sounds as a result of purchasing the DVDs. Furthermore, the episodes on television have greater constraints in terms of time; and so, the DVD version has greater latitude in keeping some jokes from being cut. Nevertheless, the difference between the two versions might not be significant, but I already said I was being a bit nitpicky. 4) I suppose that one could get the same content from elsewhere for a cheaper price (though I doubt it), but think of it this way: for the difference in price you get to be friends with Bender. How cool is that? Finally, I must add that I am in agreement with previous reviewers about the hatchback issue. This product is only for those who have evolved opposable thumbs AND have an IQ of at least 5 points.

This is for those who love Futurama and then some. What better than getting the first 5 seasons of Futurama on DVD than getting it delivered to you by the lovable Bender! This Collectable DVD Collection is not only great for a fan of the show, but is built with some fairly nice quality that makes it also a great display piece. ** INCLUDED DVD's ** This Complete Collection really can't be considered "Complete" anymore, with the return of Futurama to TV. What this collection contains is everything prior to the show going to Comedy Central. You get Season's 1 - 4 and all 4 feature movies(Technically Season 5). All together this makes 19 DVD's. The Disks contain all the extras that the standard retail versions contain, but some disks do lack a "play all" feature which might upset some. ** DVD PICTURE QUALITY / FEATURES ** Seasons 1 - 4 will be in FULL SCREEN. However because I own a 1080p upscale DVD player it automatically converts to widescreen for me. Even up-scaling from 480p DVD to 1080p the transfer looks fantastic. Season 5 (the 4 movies) are naturally in Widescreen and look just as good as the first 4 seasons. Most of the disks will contain bonus content: Deleted Scenes, animate clips, how to draw the characters, Artwork etc. It really feels like you are getting a 100% complete package here for Seasons 1 - 5 The DVD's themselves are stored in the back of Bender's head. ** This is perhaps the only negative I have to the entire set ** While the disks are held nice and secure once the door to his head is shut, when open a small bump could send disks flying everywhere. Plus during shipping the disks all collapsed on themselves, but no damage occurred. Each disk is held on a small ledge and when the door is shut, soft foam pads press against the disks to hold them snug in place. It is a good system but also flawed if you plan to carry the head around with you, since movement can dislodge the disks from their thin ledge. Disk 1 and 19 also can be a bit hard to get out due to their placement. While not impossible those two disks might fight back! ....Speaking of Bender's head... Despite the small flaw in how the disks are supported inside the head (flimsy ledges) the head is beautiful! It is made of plastic but has great detail and work put into it. The head is life-sized also and comes with a rubber antenna you can attach at the top. To access your DVD's there is a door in the back of his head you open. *** To open the door PRESS IN softly and then pull. While Bender's head looks awesome sitting on the table, giving me a mean look in the process, the box the piece comes in is even better. When the head is inside it looks as if Bender's head is in a glass jar like all the presidents and famous celebrities on the show. It gives you that option to store it either out of the box or in the box, giving the piece two distinct looks. OVERALL This is a must have for a huge Futurama fan. Not only are you getting the first five seasons on DVD, plus all the extras, but you also are getting a great collectable piece in Bender's head which doubles as the DVD holder. The quality is excellent despite the slight problem with the DVDs and heavy movement. Overall this is a 5 star product worth paying for! ** NOTE: If you want to store the Head in the original box you can not have Bender's antenna connected. ** NOTE: It would of been nice to add a small audio feature where Bender says a line from the show either when you open the DVD back, or perhaps make it so his antenna could be pressed like a button and it would speak.

Can't review anything. Opened the shrink wrapped box and tried to play the DVDs. All were blank. Had to return said item. So much for quality control. I'd say don't waste your time but I literally have nothing to base that assessment on. I can either cry in my beer or laugh it off. Kind of fell like Phillip J. Fry.

I love Futurama. If you don't know the show, I can't recommend it highly enough. I won't go into any details about the actual series here, because there is a ton of that information available to you online. Instead, I will write here only about this actual collection. I should also state that I rarely buy video discs (I have Amazon Prime and Netflix, plus amazing FiOS Internet speed), and have not purchased any Futurama discs previously. This collection is inclusive, as the product info states. And the artwork is neat and artistic. What the product info doesn't tell you is that cheap, flimsy card stock is used throughout. If you are looking for a collectible, look elsewhere. My external box was dented as I removed it from the packaging, but the internals were all fine. I've read a lot of reviews that state they received discs that were unplayable due to scratches, so I checked every single disc for damage. Only one disc was less than perfect, but it had only very minor surface scratches; nothing that will effect play-ability. Also in many reviews, I read about discs that stuck to the glue used to make the envelopes. I did not experience any of this problem. I may be just really lucky this time, but I expect that the manufacturing process has probably been improved in response to the problems reported. So what we have here is an excellent and inclusive collection of a fantastic animated series, packaged in cheap but functional card stock. If you buy at the right time, you can save a lot of money. If you feel the packaging isn't safe enough, use that savings to buy yourself an inexpensive disc envelope system. As for me, the discs will live safely in here, on their shelf.

After reading other people's reviews about their DVDs being damaged during shipping, I was nervous for my own discs, especially when I found my Amazon box with a side of it dented inwards. When I opened it up, I found that the box bender's head came in was also dented. I was disappointed, because I was planning to store Bender's head in this box to keep the affect of his head being in a jar like the presidents and celebrities in the show. Although the condition of my package wasn't what I expected from Amazon, I am relieved that my DVDs (the most important stuff) were in perfect condition. None had fallen to the bottom, were scratched, or didn't play. Bender's plastic head is well made, looks great (I would have preferred if he had a different expression or came with an interchangable set of eyes) and I didn't have trouble opening the door on the back of his head. As many other reviewers have said before me, You have to squeeze the door before pulling open. Inside his head are 19 discs labled 1-19. The 4 seasons are color coded and the 4 movies are at the bottom. I should mention the first 7 discs (seasons 1&2) Do not have a "play all" option on the menu because they are copies of the old DVDs. This doesn't really bother me, but some customers seem unhappy that not all of the disks can "play all." The method of storage wasn't given too much thought. While the outside of Bender looks great, the shelving inside was a slight dissapointment. It is still possible to remove the disks by holding the sides instead of pinching them and causing smudges, but the task requires more work than neccessary. Also, you have to pay attention when placing the disks back inside if you are to allign them correctly on the slots. I am concerned that over time, the disks will become scratched because they are not placed in sleeves. I am currently looking for rounded DVD sleeves or cases that would still fit inside bender's head. If I cannot find them, I will probably just store the disks in jewel cases outside Bender's head. What many people don't realize before throwing the box away, is that inside there is a complete episode guide and a letter from Matt Groening and David X. Cohen inside a white envelope. Some reivewers claim it was hiding underneath the cardboard flaps at the bottom of the box, but it wasn't the case for me. Overall, I would definatly reccommend this product to others. Had it been less abused during delivery and included sleeves for the discs, I wouldn't have deducted a star from this product. The content deserves 5 stars. The show itself is great and the collection is jam packed with bonus content. Keep in mind this is not technically the "Complete Collection" anymore since Comedy Central has been putting out new episodes. It is the original 4 seasons (72 episodes [fullscreen]) plus "season 5" (the 4 movies [widescreen]) from 1999-2009. This is a great purchase for fans who don't own the series yet, fans wanting to replace their old collection, or collectors who want Bender's head. (there are only 25500 made.)

Eres fan de futurama? este box set es para ti la verdad yo me quede con ganas de conocer el final de esta desde que fue cancelada, una verdadera obra maestra con el sello de mat groening de princio a fin, una verdadera lastima que no fuera tan valorada como los simpson ( a mi parecer ya agotado todo su carisma) contiene todo lo referente de futurama hasta el episodio de hypno sapo completo,las primeras temporadas contiene el doblaje latino original ( a mi parecer el mejor ) las ultimas solo en ingles,en fin un verdadero deleite tener toda la serie para verla cuando uno guste reitero si eres fan de futurama no quedaras decepcionado en absoluto

Antes de nada, aclarar que compré esta edición por lo siguiente: -La compré reacondicionada y me salió por 22€ -La versión francesa de este recopilatorio Incluye los largometrajes inéditos en TV (son 4). No así otras ediciones como la italiana (con las películas incluidas son un total de 27 DVD, los otros packs sin las películas llevan 24 DVD) -Me hacía ilusión tener toda la serie, como fan que soy. Idiomas: -Audio: -Todas están en francés e inglés -En algunas hay italiano como opción -(Algunas o todas, no estoy seguro) Vienen con inglés con comentarios de los directores y creadores de la serie -NO viene ninguna en castellano, salvo 3 de las películas (largometrajes) -Subtítulos: -Suelen tener inglés y francés (también inglés para personas con dificultades comunicativas) -Ninguna tiene subtítulos en castellano (al menos que yo haya visto, ya que los subtítulos en castellano nunca me han interesado mucho Calidad/Presentación: -La colección viene en un estuche de cartón fino (algo delicado) y dentro tiene dos cajas de plástico rígido donde se alojan los DVD -Algún DVD ha sido difícil de sacar (llegando a tener que doblarlo un poco para hacer fuerza para sacarlo) -La serigrafía de los discos son simpáticas hasta la temporada 4 (inclusive), de la quinta en adelante las serigrafías son sosas y rompen la "continuidad" que debería tener un pack recopilatorio. Esto se explica porque es un pack que no ha sido creado de cero si no que han cogido los discos de cada temporada que fueron sacando individualmente en su día y los han juntado en este pack sin demasiado "cariño". PROBLEMAS (OJO!!) -He tenido problemas para reproducir Las temporadas 5 y 6. Me saltaba un error: "please change your player's menu to your native language". No he conseguido verlas en PC pero sí en la PS4 cambiando la configuración del menú DVD a francés (puedes dejar el audio y los subtítulos predeterminados en el idioma que quieras, pero el idioma predeterminado del menú del DVD debe ser francés). Entonces ya sí que dejaba reproducirlas.

Je commente rarement, mais là je vais faire un exception, je ne comprends pas toutes ces mauvaises critiques sur ce coffret ! Je vais recadrer tout ça de mon point de vue ! Toutes les saisons ainsi que les films sont là ! Rien à redire, c'est hyper complet !!! Et ça fait vraiment plaisir de se redécouvrir Futurama ! *nostalgie* Oui, il y a quelque épisodes en VOSTFR (environ 5-10 épisodes max en tout, surement des inédits), mais non désolés ça fait pas "plus de la moitié du coffret en VOSTFR". C'est vrai que les menus ne sont pas très ergonomiques visuellement pour certaines saisons, mais il suffit juste de regarder avec ses yeux et de savoir se servir d'une télécommande, ce n'est vraiment pas bloquant, je ne comprends pas... Remarque, il y a un bouton du type "lire tout" sur le côté aussi (Pour ceux qu'ils ne l'avaient pas vu...) Une config de langue est aussi présent sur chaque épisode pour adapté si besoin (VO, VF, VOSTFR, ...) comme tout DVD.... compliqué?! Le seul point noir éventuel est le packaging un peu cheap. Les DVD peuvent se déclipser quand on l'ouvre pour la première fois, surement les aléas de livraison.. C’est tout ! Pour ma part 2 DVD étaient déclipser en effet (mais aucune rayure). MAIS c'est souvent le cas dans ce genre de mega bundle ! (stargate, etc, ...) Le prix est également un poil trop cher, heureusement qu'il était en promo à -50%, Merci Amazon ! Bref, heureusement que je n'ai pas tenu compte de vos commentaires négatifs pour certains, j'aurais raté quelque chose ! Même si ce coffret est un peu cheap et non deluxe, il est plus que complet et à un prix abordable, Parfait !

Fantastisk serie och att köpa den ny och komplett för strax över tusen kronor lät fint; tyvärr är det begagnat. Ville köpa den ny för att stödja skaparen, och i Region 1 eftersom den har, vad jag förstått, bäst bild. Vet ej om alla skivor kommer att fungera då några stycken har väldigt många repor och en har en konstig missfärgning. Även om det överlag är fint skick på skivorna så är det inte som utlovat.

Good condition, great series, futumana is cool. Arrived on time.
