I always used regular toothpaste. Toothpaste is toothpaste. Then one day the Tea Tree Oil toothpaste showed up. I thought, 'What has my wife bought now?' thinking it was a totally unnecessary purchase. But she was very health conscious, and it was common to see new things appear. So, I tried the Tea Tree Oil toothpaste. It was different from anything I had used before. It was fresh (and yes, minty, sort of). I was surprisingly impressed. It felt clean.
