In other words, does it stand out from the wall?** A: Yes. These stand out from the wall and so there is space behind the panel for the hooks. Unlike old fashioned pegboard, it is not necessary to put up furring strips or other methods to raise the panels out from the wall.. You just screw them directly to the wall and there is plenty of space behind the panels for the back of the hooks. **Q: How much does each panel weigh?** A: I have not actually weighed these but they do not weigh much. They weigh less than traditional pegboard panels. They are made of very strong but very light high-impact plastic. **Q: How thick is this pegboard?** A: 3/16” thick and stands off the wall 5/8” with ribs **Q: What is the weight of the board?** A: I’m not sure of the exact weight, but they were light and easily held by 1 person. I used the traditional wooden stuff as the interior walls for my entire workshop and I used a popular name brand metal pegboard for my gun room. The wooden stuff is flimsy- won’t ever use that mess again. The metal worked great, but it was not cheap...So when it came time to get creative in my 8 year old son’s new bedroom, I was pretty much set on a plastic version of what I used in my gun room.
