I bought an old house with old interior doors and one door had no knobs. All the works were there but just no knobs. So I had to always leave the door open because if it closed I couldn't open it. This was a closet door so I could 'nt keep the curious cat out of it. I finally searched Amazon for an answer. I am beyond thrilled with these knobs- they have an old fashioned look and were so easy to install. Just remember to loosen or remove the tiny screw so you can adjust the knob onto the steel shaft- the re-tighten the screw. Thank you Amazon - I love these knobs and the cat is now kept out of the closet.

This was a very easy DIY repair! I have a hundred year old house and this was the easiest repair yet. This fit perfectly, and was the perfect replacement size. It was so easy to do, it’s a high quality knob, and it works!!

Great price and I didn't have to change the whole mechanism, just the inner and outer door knob.

We live in a house built in 1941. Finally, something is older than I am. The mortise locksets have the same issue that all have from this period. The threads in the knobs strip out and the axles are damaged by the set screws in the handles. I finally had enough of this. I found these replacement handles & axles on Amazon. They have a bright brass finish and like the originals are brass plated. Unless you want to spend $30 dollars or more for Baldwin knobs these are a good alternative. Until these came (and other units) on the market you were left with several bad alternatives. 1. Try to find another old knob that still had threads 2. Buy replacement axles and hope that would solve the problem (temporarily) 3. Replace the mortise lockset with contemporary locksets. This product solved my problem nicely. The only complaint now is the faded brass plating on the face of the mortise lock. I decided I can live with that since no one really cares as long as the knob will open the door. It is really nice to have all the screws matching the new escutcheons and knobs. They are Phillips head screws with new edges. As I need to replace knobs and axles, I can purchase these. I priced out buying Baldwin units and the cost was going to be almost $2,000 for my house. Ouch! I found out how many doors the house has. I will be buying many more of these units. There is nothing wrong with the mortise locks. Now I will be looking for the escutcheons for the keyways. This is harder to find and install since the wood threads, being thin, are often stripped. I will probably try a small bead of silicone to glue them to the door. If you want to open doors without jiggling the knobs and you don't mind bright brass plating, then these are for you. I like them.

Not sure how they can advertise as solid brass; it’s definitely not. It’s two hollow pieces attached together; perhaps each piece is all brass. Works ok; shaft was definitely shorter than the one it replaced, and I’m not sure how long a single set screw will keep it securely fastened. Only reason it’s not rated lower is that it’s decently cheap. I’d gladly pay more for a higher quality item though.

el producto bueno estuve buscando en muchos lados algo similar y no encontre, solo que mi puerta es lijeramente mas delgada para pasar el pivote y tuve que adaptarlo pero aun asi fue facil y sencillo de instalar.

The knob on these is fabricated in two halves - one is the piece that screws over the central bar, and flares out in a sort of cone shape to the widest point of the knob, the other is the dome-shaped piece that your hand holds, which is pressed onto the first piece around widest part, with a sort of rim around the knob where they join. The problem is that the press-fit isn't secure enough, so when you go to turn the knob by holding the dome-shaped part, it slips around and fails to turn the rest of the knob. As well, the little grub screws that are supposed to lock the knob onto the shaft are too soft, and don't grip well. It would have been much better to have a square shaft (without threading) drilled for a machine screw. I would not buy these again, and do not recommend them.
