How long is the actual cork part.... some I've bought are way too large to fit in some of my bottle holes?

I have one in a standard 750ml bottle, another in the big bottle 1.5 liter. They are going to fit.

Do these cork lights have 10 or more lights per string?

there are about 20 lights per string.

Do they have an on/off switch?

NO! You have to unscrew the top to turn off the lights, there is no switch.

Does it have auto turn off timer?

No. You have to turn them off. But batteries lasted a long time on all the time during the Christmas holidays.
