These brackets are awesome!! I got the 12 inch ones -and used them to build a shelf on my smoker (cuisinart twin oaks) These were super simple to install - and very very sturdy - the folding part of the brackets are super smooth -and easy to find the trigger to release!!

I used these to create a lift-up table for the end of my workbench. I'm not sure if these would hold 500 lbs, but they seem to be work fine so far. The supports bow a little with the bench grinder is on the table.

Idd say over rated for weight limit. They work well for light to medium duty but not heavy duty. The support metal will flex with much weight on them. I used 3 for a 10’ bar slab and works great. 2 would not support the weight of slab and anyone putting pressure on it. Id buy again for light to light medium duty. Easy lick and release. Price fair. Met my needs.

Easy to install and very sturdy. I had a small addition that I need to add some counter space on a cart by the BBQ. Screwed them to the wooden legs and a nice cedar 2X12 5 ft long looks great. I like the feature of the little lever underneath that locks it in place. All stainless steel.

I have a shelf that very occasionally needs to be removed to access a utility closet that is in the laundry room. Probably once or twice a year. These brackets make it possible to remove the shelf and fold the brackets out of the way. Perfect for this use. Very well made and high quality. Easy to install too.

Ordered a set of these to attach a fold-down table to the wall in a breakfast nook. Very impressed with the hardware design and the sturdy construction. They mounted easily, with only slight tweaks to place the table top dead level. Latch mechanism easy to use, and the whole shebang stays out of sight, open or closed. Finished table is surprisingly strong and stable, especially considering the forces one can bring to bear on the outer edge of the table. Be aware that your finished project is only as stable as the materials you use and the attachment points you establish. I "overbuilt" for this purpose, and am pleased that the hardware is rock solid. Highly recommended.

Very good unit. It is my out feed table. Used to hold up 100 lbs of plywood full sheets. I dinged one star on install because of the travel slide, the mounting of top isn’t great. You need flush screws to install From brisket into wood.

I installed a heavy duty butcher block table top (24" x 64" by 1 3/4" thick) to the 20 inch brackets. Sure its a hefty top, but nothing close to the claimed 500 lb capacity of these brackets. I was skeptical how durable these brackets would be because I noticed the flat metal bars on each side of the brackets were bowed out slightly after install. Not confidence building, but otherwise it seemed sturdy and all my wife was using this for was to fold laundry. Also, the folding mechanism wasn't easy to engage, after folding it a few times I decided I wouldn't be folding it unless I absolutely had to. Fast forward 3 weeks later and both brackets have failed, my wife (120lb) was leaning against the table, so not her full weight, perhaps combined - 250 lbs on the brackets and both broke simultaneously. Picture attached. Luckily she wasn't injured and nothing else broke. The most frustrating thing is having to disassemble the table and brackets so I can return them and then either get a replacement set and also include two legs in the front since these obviously won't hold close to the 'rated' capacity, or simply go with a traditional four leg design. TL/DR - no these will not hold anything close to 500 lbs, save yourself the headache and get something else if you plan to use these with more than (guessing) 100 lbs of weight, and who knows it it will hold that, these brackets could be dangerous....

Seems sturdy and were easy to install. We used them to make a step for a bed with a tall mattress.

Supports look sturdy so far (used for a folding bench in our house entrance). Screws and the rest of the hardware that come with the supports are a joke though, being SO cheap, that they broke in two while installation (not just one, but all of them). You will need to get real screw from the hardware store for these.

Did not have any problems with them and works perfectly

Not too much to say about this item - I didn't use it to make a shelf and sit on it, or anything, but I have no garage and only a wee little storage room so I mounted this as a space-saver to hang my extension cord from. The "folding" function seems to work very well so if I needed to fold it out of the way for any reason it would be easy to do so. Two screw holes. Doesn't get much simpler!
