He prefers the LL Bean backpack for school. He uses this backpack to sleepovers, Christian overnight activities, and simple road trips with friend's families to events. He can carry his clothes, hygiene needs and straps his shoes, as needed, using the cords on the outside of his backpack. His book bag from LL is much bigger and heftier. He really likes this backpack for his personal uses. **Q: Does this jester bag hold 3 ring binders??** A: Hi. What size? 1 inch- 3 ring or 2 inch would be the best. Be issue of the padding inside for a laptop, the space is limited for a large binder. **Q: Can this bag be used as a hiking day bag?** A: Yes! However, it doesn't have a chest strap (not sure what it's called - it is a horizontal across-the-chest-strap used for stability).
