Hard to get hold of from supermarkets, nice stuff that adds a nice kick

Great taste. Quality ingredients, produces a lovely flavour. A bit expensive.

This sambal is slightly sweet, very difficult to find such sambal in the UK (as other brands, tends to be a bit sour). This kind of sambal makes the best fried rice / fried noodles / nasi lemak in my opinion.

Definitely not worth nearly seven pounds for size of jar. I gave it to my husband thinking it was a paste that could be used several times; I was shocked when he said he followed the recipie for two to use all with the cost of additional ingredients. It would have been cheaper to get a takeaway! The taste was okay, but I wouldn't get it again given that it was advertised as gourmet!

Not bad I make what are lovely stews/curries but never measure anything, my friend calls them bung curries. It was used in one or more of those

Terrible taste

So I usually buy a different brand of Sambal for nasi lemak but times got desperate and my usual Chinese supermarket is miles away so I thought I’d try this brand. Oh my gosh it is SO tasty, even better than the brand I was using before. Slightly milder chilli but really well balanced. I will be buying more from MakTok definitely going forward. Yes there was some oil on the bubble wrap when it arrived but the jar was unbroken and the seals were intact so it doesn’t matter. What matters is the taste!! And look at how happy he is on the label!
