It is a great voice singing great songs.

I love every song on this cd. His voice gives me the chills & the songs chosen for this cd are the type I favor. Jacobs Well is so beautiful I wish there was a dvd to go with. So glad Boogie Man was on there as well. I just really wish Amazon would carry his music videos so I could get them.

I've bought many of Royal Wade Kimes mp3's from his cd's and have really come to love his music. I have never heard him on radio, but I often go searching for new music that is not always mainstream and found him through searching through Amazon's music. He is a great artist with a classic country style and a unique, captivating voice. My favorite song of all is "The White Horse." This song just touches me every time. I really like all of his songs, but a couple other favorites include "In My Land" and "Flower in the Wind." Thanks, Mr. Kimes, for the music.

I saw Wade in concert and afterward he signed a CD of How the West Was Sung. It is a very good sampler of his best work and the new song, Apache Kid, is very good. I have all his work.

This CD, first released on 2007, escaped my notice, until I purchased the latest collection of Civil War tracks released in 2013. I was so impressed then, and remain so, that I went looking for more. I found this masterpiece of western songs, some ballads and the rest are stories, similar to those which the late, great Marty Robbins would have delivered so well.He could not, however, have bettered the efforts of Royal Wade Kimes. 16 tracks, all either written or co-written by RWK. Titles like "Faster Gun", emphasizing that no matter how good you are, there is always someone better, waiting around the corner. Garth Brooks duets with RWK on "Night Birds". The writing credits on "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone" are shared with Sheb Wooley, and as the title suggests it consists of the reminiscences of people like John Wayne, Gary Cooper and Tex Ritter, plus the TV Westerns, Gunsmoke and Rawhide, where he refers to Gil (Eric Fleming) and Rowdy (Clint Eastwood). Sheb Wooley, himself starred in this series as Pete Nolan, the scout.These songs are sung well,the lyrics are good and make sense and the accompaniment is first class. My only criticism is the lack of information about the artist and the lyrics of the songs would have been handy too. Sit down and listen and if you are a western music fan, I have no doubt you will enjoy this as much as I did.
