I have always used the convential shaped pillows and this was my first side sleeper pillow. It was very comfortable to sleep with. ALso the hole in the pillow for an ear to fit in is very convenient. I've tried them all. Foam, down, seed filled etc. and they were either too high or too flat. Saw an ad for one of these SideSleepers om TV and thought what did I have to loose. The first week or two it was an adjustment to get used to but I did not have any neck discomfort from day one. I sleep on both sides and leave it in one position and it does fine. Love the the cover comes off to wash. My only complaint is that I am 5' 1" and petite with small shoulders, my ear does not align with the hole that well but it does not bother me either. I travel to Florida a lot and will be getting a second one to keep there.
