We searched high and low in stores for a lighted mirror, however they were either too expensive or not bright enough. I went out on a whim and bought this mirror because the price was great, reviews looked good and light appeared bright. I was SO pleased with the mirror! It’s not a super fancy mirror, but the lighting and mirror quality are definitely amazing! Now I want one for myself! The magnifying mirror doesn't remain affixed to the bigger mirror so it's basically a compact. The only thing I don’t like is that mine doesn’t seem to ‘lock’ into place. By that I mean the stem wiggles and moves. Have to move it by the base while holding the top or it will come out.
