This unit allows easy insertion into a spring loaded clamping mechanism. It clicks in with a very positive feel. The tape measure won’t come out till you press the little latch at the top of the unit. It is a very smooth and natural motion to insert and remove the tape measure. The holder itself has a j hook at the bottom to keep it on your belt. Overall this is the best unit I have ever bought for keeping my tape measure with me. Others have knocked off to easy or were sometimes hard to get the tape measure back in the holder or needed a “special” gizmo added to the tape. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ worth $10. had tape pops off of magnet/pocket out there. The retaining clip that tucks in to release your tape measure if that one component could be metal.
