Cracking little device used it to connect my tablet to tv in a hotel room (via HDMI cable) and worked perfectly with no additional set up. Doesnt' charge the device however sadly (although it wouldn't inherently via HDMI i know) there is no way to connect a charger at the same time if you only have the one USB-C port for charging and output.

Okay so I have had this product for around 2 months now, when I first tried I said to myself "what on earth have I bought!?" every time I plugged it into my MacBook Air M1 connected to a Lenovo 24' Monitor it would completely spaz out and graphical glitches would appear all over the screen, it would work around 20% of the time after either waiting around 5 minutes or turning my monitor off and on a trillion times! However, when I plugged it into my TV with the same laptop it worked flawlessly! But upon using the Lenovo Monitor it would do this again, so I thought okay it must be the monitor, so I went out and borrowed a Samsung Monitor and the graphical glitches occurred again! So now I've wasted not just my time but the person that I borrowed off's time! on a monitor when it was this dinky little piece of crap plaguing my stuff! It also gets extremely hot after around 10 mins and my USB-C port makes a clicking sound, don't think I'm gonna use it again, please don't waste money and time on a product that doesn't work more than half of the time and can break your Computer! Please please please buy from a respectable brand and if the price seems too good to be true then it is, don't be like me folks.

Works as intended. Seems sturdy and good quality. Note transmission direction is USB C to HDMI. It will NOT work in reverse, if you can manage that. Make sure your USB C port can handle video. I would purchase again.
