I have read the reviews of previous people and seen that they have problems of this product dropping connection I did find this myself, but changed the power setting to not save power on my NIC card within my PC and it works perfectly. I have added a Virtual Switch to the NAS and have it run through the NAS as a direct connection and connect to the internet from within the NAS it self and this works perfectly. I am very please with my purchase.

Bought this to try with a PC but didn’t work, but not a lost, connected it to my 2017 iMac and working well.

Worked great for a total of 20 minutes, even managed to transfer files to my NAS at 6Gbps, however it then became intermittent and the Thunderbolt software on my server stopped picking it up altogether.

I was avoiding Caldigit products for many years due to a poor customer service experience i'd had with their Thunderbolt Dock. However, after trying the Qnap SPF+ adapter which overheated and drop connections, I reluctantly tried the Caldigit Connect 10g. Its large heat sink keeps temps in check and its connection is stable. Im not 100% sure that it has the fastest throughput, but its sufficient for my data transfer needs.

This is brilliant for my laptop. 10Gbe via thunderbolt on Windows 10. No issues with connection, it's solid. It runs warm but nothing unacceptable. And, of course, that sweeeet speeeed.

J'ai fais une installation complète pour profiter du 10gb de ma Freebox Delta et le résultat est époustouflant, regarder par vous même. L'image jointe est issue d'un test effectué sur mon iPad Pro 2021 (Ca fonctionne également dessus).

Ich nutze den Adapter um den Zugriff auf mein NAS per LAN zu beschleunigen. Das NAS bietet einen 10Gbit Port, welcher mithilfe des Adapters am MacBook mir diese auch liefern kann. Funktioniert bisher immer einwandfrei und sehr gut. Die Verarbeitung ist, wie immer bei Caldigit, sehr gut. Der Adapter wird im Betrieb teilweise recht heiß - klar es ist kein Lüfter verbaut und die Wärme wird durch das Gehäuse abgegeben. Das sollte man nur bei der Platzierung des Adapters im Kopf behalten. 5 Sterne von meiner Seite. Auch im Hinblick auf die Verpackung. Wenig Plastik, da freut man sich.

Der Adapter ist einfach zu installieren und funktioniert sofort ohne Probleme. Der 10Gb-Adapter wird im Betrieb sehr warm und die Leistung bricht ein und verliert die Konnektivität. Bei bei großen Dateien bricht die Datenrate stark ein, weil der Adapter zu warm wird. Man kann damit problemlos eine 10Gb Verbindung herstellen. Leider hält die Verbindung nicht und nur selten können größere Sicherungen ohne Abbruch beendet werden. Mit meinem M1 Macbook pro Max funktioniert der Adapter zwar, aber mit großen Einschränkungen. Ich kann den Adapter nicht empfehlen.

I have seen it all but this... this is beyond! As soon as it gets hot (few minutes) and I mean like really, really hot and extremely uncomfortable to touch, it drops connection. Constantly and every few minutes. No way to do anything with it. It's good only for coffee warmer but in no way usable as a network card!

After running a test of 3 decives, this was the only really driver free on at my 2019 iMac. Sonnet 10G - Driver needed, none found, should be driver free in modern macOS - But isn't :-( Promise Sanlink3 T1 - This T1 Model is depreciated. S1 it's successor (not tested) It is fast. Driver needed, driver worked in macos 12.3.1 Monterey. But it is an old one. Not sure how much longer macos will install this driver. Very big plus of the Sanlink3 - it is fast and simply luke warm. Excellent thermal profile. CalDigit Connect 10G - It is fast, it works right out of the box. It became about 40+ c warm. Much warmer then the Sanlink3 T1. Both have very comparable speeds against a Synology DS1621+ with a 10G Ethernet card and a direct ethernet cable link.
