It is more of a light reddish color and not as bright red as the photos suggest. In addition, the paint appears to be electrostatic and not just painted on as the photos suggest. I chose this tower bar specifically so the mounting brackets do not interfere with the Ingalls engine torque dampener that will be hooked up to the same strut mounting. There are cheaper bars out there but thise are constructed of tubular metal and not aluminum. I cannot feel any difference after installing and didn't expect to. But it does dress up the engine bay nicely and if you are looking to do that this product is very nice. I showed my engine to a "non-car guy" after installing and it was the first thing he asked me about. The Tanabe front bar was easy to install and it looks like a quality piece. The color is very nice, although it looks more bright red in the photos. It actually is a deeper darker red in person.
