I'm also picky about details and quality. There were a few questions that I had prior to purchasing. Assuming many others might have similar concerns, I'll summarize my findings here.1) Is the internal switching mechanism a mechanical relay or a solid state electronic switch? It's a RELAY! You should care about this because that means you can be less concerned about the type of load you put on it -- as long as the current is under 10 amps.2) Is the face plate a Decora style and how will it work with traditional face plates? Yes it is and you do not have to use the supplied plate. The color is white.3) Does it consume a lot of power? Although I didn't measure it, I didn't feel a need to because it remained fairly cool. The more important observation is how does it compare to other brands? This brand is very efficient and that's important if you install a lot of them.4) What about quality vs. price? There were many indications that a lot of thought and design effort went into this product. From appearance to operation, the price point makes this a great value.5) The installation instructions could use some improvement, but the basics are covered.6) I needed something more than a timer... I needed a way to turn lights on at sunset and that time changes every day, plus there's Daylight Saving Time. Will it do that? The app handles that and plenty more. After about 30 minutes of playing with the app without formal documentation, I was able to figure out how to set up "short cuts" on the home page, scenarios and all the automation I needed. It's very capable.7) Will it fit into my switch box? The body of the switch is larger than a typical wall switch and about the size of a large GFIC receptacle. Unless you have a shallow box, it can be made to fit. There are several tricks to making more room if needed. You can shorten excess wire lengths and change the wire nuts to a more compact size. Wires can be carefully laid into the back of the box instead of randomly stuffing them in. It's usually possible to replace the box if absolutely needed... some people might not be up for that task.7) I can't comment on internal construction since they were not disassembled. I cannot comment on long-term reliability since I've only had them a couple weeks. Comments from others and my own experience is solid operation and zero issues to date. I expect these will be very reliable as long as my wireless network remains on line. ### ⭐⭐ switches appear good quality BUT... *by F***D on Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2020* Just installed two of these switches and so far they appear excellent. Easy to install and wiring was clear to understand. I downloaded the smart life app but there is no instructions, and a Google search for instructions is lacking. The few videos and instructions I found didn’t match the app. But after playing around with the app I figured it out and the app is pretty comprehensive as to the different features it offers. The switch appears to be of good quality so far.UPDATE: I changed my rating to two stars because of the bizarre customer service, or lack there of. When the switches arrived there was an offer for a free smart plug. I followed the instructions and emailed the company. They replied saying the smart plug offer wasn’t available and offered a dimmer switch. Ok, I said I’d take the dimmer switch. Then they emailed back and wanted me to submit a favorable rating and asked that I include a screen shot of the review. I did that. Then they emailed again saying they’d send an outdoor WiFi plug.What is going on with this weird company?I asked for them to just send the smart plug they offered or the switch they promised.Another email asking me to purchase a 4-pack of dimmer switches and once they confirm my purchase through PayPal they would reimburse me. Something very suspicious about this company. They make an offer for a free item, never send the item but attempt to get me to purchase an expensive 4-pack of switches that I don’t want. Very deceptive business.
