Only a hobby machinist, but this is very smooth in operation, next to zero backlash. I cut a backplate and mounted a 4" 3-Jaw chuck. Works great so far, no complaints. Finish could use a little work, but nothing that couldn't be honed out on the face of the table (a few sharp edges on the T-Slots). ### ⭐ Worm Gear out of round from lock pin being too large.. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2021* I hoped this item would work better then it does, I expected to have to disassemble and thoroughly clean the unit as its not the first purchase of budget machine tooling i have purchased. but typically after a good cleaning and removing the casting sand missed by the factory and greasing with quality grease and tuning/adjusting these type f tools can be made fairly serviceable. unfortunately when the worm gear was pinned to lock it to the faceplate, the pin used was so oversized that it egg shaped the worm gear. this results in the worm to gear adjustment being too tight to move when it comes around to that side of the gear, and sloppy loose everywhere else. this should have never made it out of the factory. If the seller reads this, I am open to repairing myself if you would send a replacement gear set. I do not trust that another one would come assembled any better so I will either return or replace with seller supplied parts. Here is to hoping they will make this right! ### ⭐⭐ Rough Project but Workable *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2020* This is a project in and of itself. You will need to invest time in cleaning it, polishing and de-burring it. It is rough out of the box, but can be made to operate smoother and more accurately. It has backlash of from 5-9 degrees but you can work around this once you know of it. It it useful for a hobbyist, using a small mill. I have it set up on my Proxxon FM 70 and for me, it works well and is usable.
