I don't get where people are complaining about the holes. The picture clearly shows these holes on the top, and the verbal description states that there are holes. I purchased this item to go on our Intex pool. We have the type that does not blow up...it has a rigid framework...like PVC. This cover worked fine...a bit snug, but fine. It is a heavy rubber and YES...there are holes on the top. We are in an arid area that rarely gets rain during the summer, so filling with rainwater is a non-issue for us. We leave an inflated rubber tube in the pool...in the center...to hold the cover OFF of the water. I was amazed at the quality for the cost. Even if we only use it for a year!!! Well worth the $10 or $12 dollars. Pretty easy to put on and as for the cord rotting as one review mentioning. I actually can't imagine that happening....but even if it did....it's so snug that it really is not needed. 9/3 UPDATE...OK...this cover has been in place for the bulk of the heat/summer. We have taken it off and on probably 50 times. It still fits well. We did get a tear in it...don't know how it happened, but a few pieces of duct tape and good as new. For $13 it is a great buy. Even if you replace it yearly....$13? This item is exposed to a very hot dry climate here in the Sierras of Central Calif. Still supple and strong.

I've gotten many "covers" over the years that were simply cheap tarps that barely lasted a season. Out the gate, I could tell this was different. Its a thicker vinyl that feels solid and seems stitched well. I managed to stretch it over the pool solo, and it fit perfectly. I didn’t even need to use the pull strings. For the first time, I'm not worried about wind, and im hopeful the dark color will help heat the water. The holes are larger than I expected, so some debris -- especially dirt -- could get through. We will see how big an issue it is.

Bought this cover because, reading the reviews, another reviewer stated this was the perfect fit for a 8ft trough pool. I have to say the fit did not disappoint. When putting it on remember to keep the rope edge taught against the pool and work it around, you will need 2 people for this. It is the perfect fit, even with stood a jump in of our 100+ lb puppy, and even went on easier the second time. However sadly he jumped on it again and removed it from our pool and it was completely destroyed, laying proudly displayed for me to see when he woke me up the next morning right in front of our back steps. I do not have any pictures of it on my pool, as it wasn't around long enough for me to get one. I tried to add pictures of my pool, and the bandit who destroyed my new pool cover but whatever I did in the first review I wrote wasn't accepted so I am leaving those pictures out and changing my wording. Very sturdy feeling, very well put together, I was extremely happy with this purchase, I'm sick my boy destroyed it. 😔 But you can buy with confidence.

I bought this pool cover this May. It is a round piece of blue plastic with a draw cord embedded around the outer ring which can be pulled and tightened around the pool. It completely covers my entire pool and wraps over the inflatable ring on top of the pool. And fits snugly on the outside of the pool under the inflatable ring. The cord can then be tightened so the cover is secured to the pool. It works great. There are holes in this cover. The holes are designed for rain water. If there were no holes, rain water would accumulate on top of the cover. The weight of the water on top of the cover would cause the pool to collapse. It would also be difficult to remove the cover with a large amount of water on it. Anyways it works great, and yes once in a while some dirty rain water does get in However it does keep out the majority of leaves, bugs and other debris. I've also noticed that it helps keep the pool from loosing heat at night. Here is the only problem: the draw cord is made of nylon. After about a month the sun and chemicals got to it and it broke. I didn't try to replace the cord because I thought it would be too difficult to restring. Had I known this when I first got it, I would've immediately restrung the cover with a more durable string. It's not too late now but I think it would be very very difficult to restring now that there's no string in half of it. Anyways it still fits great and even though I can't tighten it down, it still covers the pool very well. On very windy/stormy days, the wind can grab it and blow it half off the pool but it has never blown all the way off. I would defiantely recommend this cover for your Intex pool. I would suggest that when you get it immediately restring it with something that won't break down when exposed to sun and pool chemicals. With a string already in place it would be very simple to just pull a new cord through.

UPDATE: DRAIN HOLES NEED MESH OVER THEM! They are too big and all the dirt and small debris make their way into the pool. I am returning and just going w the tarp method. I had to drain and clean the pool after a rain So. I got this due to the drain holes: unfortunately they do not have mesh over them. Defits the debris purpose. I have cotton trees. Need I say more. Especially w rain, it's all going to pool to the center (cover is too big) and w that all the cotton I'm trying to avoid. Wrong size: my pool is 7.3x7.5 w a head rest, so I went w the 9" to compensate. It's actually a 10 inch. Not sure if it being more taught would aid in the cotton not draining into the pool. I don't think it would because the drain holes are a decent size. I think more of a mesh like design or mesh over the holes needs to be a thing. I was looking at the bubble wrap type that just sits on top, but there again: the water may just pool. Right now it's the cotton & not sure this will do much for that when it rains. Will definitely help w bigger debris. All in all, I believe this was the best choice of all options 4 stars for open big drain holes.

I have to order a new one of these every year. By about a year it's shot--working when sun is hot, crumbling in pieces when sun is down and in the 60's outside. I am NOT complaining about that. It's a real bargain for a year's use in the punishing Southern sun for a really great price. The reason for the low rating is because I ordered EXACTLY the same item (Amazon shows it as identical purchases a year and a month apart), but this one is about 1.5 to 2 feet shorter all the way around (total 3 to 4 foot shorter diameter)! I use it over my Coleman/Bestway hot tub to take the sun abuse so the hot tub underneath will survive longer. I need sun protection all the way to the ground, but this one covers only the top plus a small overhang. Maybe I can order a 10-foot and send this one back. I'd give this a 5 star all the way, but what is this monkeying with the size with no warning? Maybe the last one covered an 8 foot pool with a 2 foot overhang (the hot tub is about 6 foot diameter, giving the original covers enough room to cover it all the way to the concrete patio below it. It was flat, allowing gathering with string to pull it snug to the sides. But this "8 foot" cover is barely over 6 feet, then has another piece sewed to it that goes down, such that it cannot be laid out flat. I can't say that no one would prefer this, but it is WRONG to call it the "same item", because it is NOT! It ONLY fits a SMALLER pool than the same item number. Maybe I should rate it as a 1 star instead of 3 star. Maybe it has 8 feet if you bend your tape measure at each end, but it SAYS "8-Foot Round...Pool Cover...12 in Overhang", which is NOT true. INCLUDING the overhang it reaches roughly 8 feet. It should be changed to indicate that it is ABSOLUTELY NOT the same cover as before, and it absolutely cannot cover even close to what used to be covered. Again, this isn't a bad item. It just is NOT the SAME item, AND it is FALSELY DESCRIBED. If it were correctly described it is fine, but absolutely not the item I want. I want the old original! Flat, and 3-4 feet longer.

We have this cover on our 15foot easy set pool. It is much better than the cover that came with the pool and fits really snuggly over the inflatable top ring (just carefully pull the cord and tie a knot when you first put it on, after that you can just slip it over the inflatable top ring). This is our second cover, the previous one being retired after a year on the pool and an unfortunate accident with a trimmer. The newer design is better in that the (ventilation?) holes in the cover are now closer to the edge and therefore we no longer get water coming through the holes and sitting on top of the cover. This cover keeps all the leaves and bugs out, and keeps the water and chemicals from evapourating, so the pool is ready for use whenever we fancy a swim... Really good value for money, if you have a pool this is a great addition.

Great cover for swimming pool. Easy to use and put on pool. Its pool as it should. Keeps debris etc out.

It did not fit my 12 ft pool ....it also came with holes in it that I did not see in the picture which was useless when I was trying to protect the pool from rain when I also tried to pull it across the pool it thore easily and did not have strings on both sides to tie it down .

Installed this cover on a generic 12 foot inflatable ring quick set pool purchased from Canadian Tire. The cover that was available in store was a cheap, thin tarpaulin material that difficult to install and nearly impossible to tighten - several mornings after a light evening breeze, we came out to find the cover on the grass beside the pool. From the minute this arrived at our door, we knew this was a far superior product - just the weight alone speaks wonders to the quality of this pool cover. This cover feels like it's made of the same material the actual pool is made of - heavy vinyl, reinforced around the edges, with an actual shape to it so it fits nicely on the ring of the pool. There's a decent drawstring that was easy to pull tight, and because of the shape of this cover, when the string is tight this thing isn't going anywhere! There are several holes around the top of the cover (see the picture) which help with letting any wind that gets under the lip to escape instead of turning this into a giant parachute, but it may allow smaller pieces of debris into the pool - I'll be keeping an eye on the amount of accumulated debris throughout the next couple weeks to see if it's really that bad. All in all, definitely a good purchase to keep the pool covered - excellent fit, and very durable material make this a 5 star product in my books.
