VTech Latches and Doors Busy Board

This toy has been an incredible addition to our baby’s playtime and development. It's played a big role in helping him improve his fine motor skills. He loves figuring out how to unlock and open the different doors. I’ve noticed his coordination and dexterity improving since we introduced it. Plus, it holds his attention for quite a while, which is a huge bonus!

I have a child that always wants to flip switches and mess with latches and drawer pulls that swing. When I gave them this busy board, that was it. They love it and played with this for an hour, at least. They also love to throw their toys and let them fall from the furniture, I have several VTech toys that really take a beating around here and they work like new (provided the batteries are good). Compared to other busy boards that are two or three times the price featuring metal latches and switches but don't have lights and sounds, I think this one is going to be a favorite for a long time. I won't mind hauling this toy everywhere, and I won't worry about it being a potential hazard for my rambunctious little rascals. It's the kind of toy you can clean up and put away until you know another little that could use it, these toys really last, and I highly recommend any of VTech products!

My toddler was becoming so obsessed with locks and doorknobs, I would have to hold her up awkwardly at doorknob height every time we left or returned to the house, and sometimes when leaving a room, to avoid a huge meltdown. I ordered this hoping for relief, and it worked like a charm. She was instantly smitten, and would spend 10, 15, or even 20 minutes playing with this toy independently every day for weeks. She would point to it and say "that! that!" in the morning, and immediately become engrossed. This thing has saved my back, and also given me lots of precious time in the mornings to prepare tea, make breakfast for us, actually eat my food, use the bathroom, and other luxuries. My toddler also loves to press the song buttons and then dance to the songs. The volume levels are good, and the two modes of play keep it interesting. Even now, at least 6 weeks later, she still wants to play with this toy sometimes, which is more than I can say for some other items. Definitely would recommend, and would buy again.

Update: now he's 17 months old- he still loves it, it's holding up to the use and abuse, he's learned to work the locks and identify the stuff behind the doors. It's a good toy! Bought for my son when he was 7.5 months old, he was getting into opening and closing cabinets so I thought this would be great and it is! At first he was just randomly hitting and manipulating the whole thing- then we got to watch him learn it and figure out how to open and close doors- such a cool way to see his progress. Now he's 9 months and still loves it. The songs and sounds are not annoying, and theres an off switch. We love it.

Busy board is overall great and keeps my toddler engaged. She has figured out the latches and doors but continues to play with it. One problem is that within 1.5 months of use, the door light button broke and stopped working. Sometimes it does not respond to the switch and sometimes it turns on and off on its own, which is confusing my daughter. It's not super sturdy enough for an active toddler who likes to move around with it.

This is a great toy for toddlers and a little older kids. Love how the doors open to a song or an activity. Kids can learn to count and their ABC’s. We placed a picture of our family over the one in the house and every time the door is opened, they can see their own family. The door to the picture of the cupcakes is a little hard to open and little hands may need help to open. You can decrease the volume and it turns off by itself when not in use. Highly recommend this learning toy.

A lot of busy boards online are wood with metal pieces that made me nervous my son would pinch his fingers or worse so when I saw this I was super excited. It is still super durable plastic but all the pieces are easy to use and I don’t have to worry he will hurt himself. Great toy for dexterity etc

My Amazon parrot loves Vtech interactive toys. He already has the two cubes and knows how to press the buttons. I just purchased this one and he loves it!

This product is good quality for the price, has 5 types of activities, two modes, and two sound levels. Requires supervision when kids get old enough to lift/throw things or try to stand on literally everything. I would recommend this as it is really good for child development and keeps them entertained and engaged the older they get.
