I usually wear overpants so I don't sit directly down on them. I think if I did they might not be that comfortable. However, going through the rain worked very well. I once got off my bike only to realize that my entire backend was soaked in sweat. These seat beads eliminated this by creating circulation of air where it was needed. Also, they are much more comfortable for a long ride than the seat itself, because each bead increases your circulation and prevents fatigue.
