Someone needs a Nobel Prize for this
My joke is that whoever invented this should get some kind of award. I don't like to squish insects (not only makes me feel bad for the poor bug who wandered into my house, but also is hard on the wall paint as the bugs often leave a stain) so this is now my go-to. No more trying to get some quick-moving spider to stay under a glass jar with a paper on top of it, or any of the other things I've done to put critters back outside. Works for spiders, assassin bugs, mosquito hawks, and even flies if you're quick. You'll know it's time for a battery change when the suction becomes less strong, but to me the batteries last a long time -- months.

A lot of noise and no captured bugs
If I could leave a review with negative numbers this item would be well deserving of that. A complete waste of money, unless you are looking for something to make noise with because you certainly will NOT catch bugs. The only way it would pickup a bug was to scoop it into the tube, not even enough draw to pull a down feather in off of a sheet of paper. Plus the fact that it uses a 9V battery, sucking the life out of the battery very quickly.

This Does it's Job!
I have been searching and buying much fancier bug vacuums that just fall apart after a month or two and on top of that, have no function to prevent them from escaping after you vacuum them. This is a marvelous, simple device. The Plastic casing is sturdy and durable, The clear extension tube is perfectly fine as well, sturdy. And it comes with a cap you can place on the end to prevent, guess what, the bugs escaping after vacuuming them. It has a nice and easy to grip handle, and is very lightweight. And releasing the bugs is much easier than those fancy vacuums I tried, they don't stick to the plastic extension tube, a few taps on it and they come falling out of it. Easy peasy. To address reviews that complain about the suction, it runs on a 9-Volt battery for goodness sake. It's not a high powered vacuum obviously, but it is plenty powerful for suck up a bug, given it's namesake purpose. The video review that is trying to vacuum hair, is equally inane, that's not what it's supposed to do. If you are looking to address a bug problem, this is a great choice. It does not come with 9-Volt Battery, so you probably want to add that to your purchase. I would recommend this simple, sturdy device for bug sucking.

Seems Good.
I'm impressed. I'm vegan and try not to kill the less-predatory insect, and this device has worked well so far. I'm familiar with various insect catching tools that I purchased over the years. One was called the Backyard Safari, which was actually a children's toy for catching bugs. It was also a vacuum and battery operated, but died on me so I purchased this. I'm more happy with this device. Decent suction, and opening hole is wider than the Backyard Safari. Also, this device seems to have a fully sealing lid with little or now cracks for the bug to escape, let's say you're upstairs and catch a bug but are busy with something so you let it sit there for a while, some tiny bugs are able to escape from some of these bug catching devices because they don't fully seal. Backyard Safari had this problem. Time will tell how well it will hold up, but function so far is relatively good. UPDATE: After some use the device fell apart because the glue or bond apparently wasn’t strong enough. I used some JB Weld to put it back together and it’s been holding up well since then. The problem seems to be that over many times of throwing the bugs out by doing a downward swinging action with my hand, eventually the glue didn’t hold and the device fell apart. I didn’t hit it or do anything unusual to cause that, just swung my hand in a downward motion while holding the vacuum to throw the bugs out, but over time this action, combined with the weak bonding of the device, seems to have been the reason it fell apart. However, it’s still working well after all these years and significant usage.

Decent device but sucking power, sucks.
I purchased this item because I can’t stand getting too close to bugs. The thought of one getting on my skin is enough to cause a slight panic. The Bug Buster keeps the insects at arms length so I don’t have to worry about a bug jumping into my hand. It’s very easy to setup (Just pop in one 9-volt battery) and it’s lightweight. The idea is great but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. It works decently but I thought it would suck harder. The instruction manual states that “bug will be sucked rapidly into the tube”. They must have a different definition of the word, rapidly, because it’s far from it. The suction is very light and I had trouble sucking up a couple earwigs. After multiple attempts, I eventually got them into the tube. Once caught, the bugs were easily released outside and cleanup is very easy. A little dish soap and some hot water on the tube and a disinfectant wipe on the vent area. I wish there was an option to choose the color. The yellow isn’t my favorite. It doesn’t seem to be the most sturdy either. I don’t plan on this happening but it seems like it would break if dropped. So basically I was disappointed in the sucking power. If that could somehow be increased, it would be the perfect bug catcher.

Vacuum up, put them out!!!
Love it. Vacuum up all the bugs or spiders that sneak into the house and release them back outside. Even the ones on the ceiling.

Works but not heavy duty
With the summer, and the dogs in and out of the house all day, there's always bugs inside, hoards of gnats fit through the window screens. This bug vac is much easier and less messy than the flyswatter. Not sure how long the battery will last, but I did buy Energizer Max 9v. I use the turbo tip when there's a bunch of bugs I need to catch. The tube cap doesn't fit the turbo tip, but I cover it with my thumb moving from bug to bug. It would have been useful to have a cap to fit the turbo tip. Also a tether between the tube and the cap so I don't drop it or lose it. The black battery cap kept falling off. It just slides into place, so I had to tape it closed. The battery cap should lock into place. To empty it without bugs flying out, I stuck the tip down into a baggie, and tapped the sides until the bugs fell out. Decent, if a bit pricey, especially with the cost of batteries, but worth the ease of use and efficiency. If it lasts. Haven't tried it on larger flies. Hope the suction will be up to the challenge. August 17 update. Killed the motor. It's meant for occasional bugs. Not for summer swarms. Regular flies don't get sucked in.
