Good, but........
Okay, I've had an opportunity to use each of these three colors in my 18' round pool (which has a light blue liner), and here are the pro's and con's of this stuff: PRO'S: Color lasts about 3 days, although it lightens a bit with each passing day; CON'S: You have to use a LOT more of it than is "recommended" in order to achieve a color anything like what you might be expecting. The instructions say to use 1 ounce for each 5,000 gallons of water, so I initially used 2 ounces since my pool is 8900 gallons. After I added 2 ounces, the red coloring made the water very light pink, and the green made the pool very light "teal" colored. So, I added another 2 ounces (even though the directions specifically say you shouldn't add more) and the "red" made my pool a distinct pink, and the green made my water a distinct turquoise color, which was actually quite pretty. Probably because my liner is already blue, the water looked decidedly blue when I used 4 ounces of blue coloring. I think you'd have to add the entire bottle in order to make your water semi-red or semi-green colored, which means it'll cost you about $10 to create this effect for 2 or 3 days in an 18' pool. Is it worth it? I probably won't buy this brand again for that reason.

Amazing Color Addition!
We recently tried out the Party Pool color additive for our swimming pool, and it was a fantastic experience! The blue color it gave to our pool was vibrant and added a fun, festive touch to our backyard party. A quick tip: make sure to follow the directions and mix it with water before adding it to your pool. We did try adding it directly without mixing first, and while it worked, it left a film on the top of the water. Mixing it beforehand ensures an even, beautiful color without any residue. Overall, weโre thrilled with the results and will definitely be using this product again for our future pool parties! The first photo is when we added it to the water and the second photo is approximately an hour later.

This product is fun and does look great- but only one issue...
The issue is that this product will clog up your filters...both sand and cartridge. Its as simple as just knowing this and backwashing or rinsing after you have had your fun. But just know that the filter system captures this product. Follow the dosing recommendations on the bottle and that will help. But the colors are great...and they last, too. I used the blue the other day and with filter running 24/7 it last for a good number of days.

This is the Real Deal!
I was extremely skeptical when I ordered this, but my vinyl liner is bleached out and stained from the back and looks an algae attack run amok at its cleanest. I took a chance and applied the blue Pool Party. The ugly liner was still visible to a small degree, but the water color was such a brilliant blue nobody noticed. It lasted for three days, just as the product said. I've already ordered more. I highly recommend it!

The blue color was great but the pool turned green with algae a few days later
Used before on my pool a party. The color lasted about 24 hrs. The color was great. Before putting the dye in, I checked the pH, alkalinity, and chlorine levels. Everything was within their acceptable range. A few days after the dye had dissipated, the pool started turning green with algae. I shocked it. The shock didn't work, which was strange because it wasn't even extremely green at that point. I checked the pH levels, they were off the chart (above 8, which is as far as my testing kit goes), the water was very basic (high pH). When pH is high, chlorine no longer works, which is why the algae was still growing after shocking the pool. The pool is extremely green now. I increased the alkalinity a bit (to make the pH more stable). I've been trying to lower the pH close to 7 so that the superchlorination (shock) can be more effective. The problem with a very green pool is that all that algae causes the pH to climb back up, which means I keep having to add some "pH down" to control the pH and keep it at an acceptable level for the chlorine to do its thing. The green is now lightening, but the pool water is still very green :( Once I get rid of the algae, I'll have to raise the pH back up to normal levels before using the pool. I think muriatic acid might have done a better job at lowering the pH, but I prefer not to keep that stuff around given that I have little kids around. A 4 days later, the algae is gone, but the water is extremely cloudy with dead algae. I now have to let the pool filter do its thing and mechanically remove all the dead algae. I'm probably in for a few more days before we use the pool again. Shortly after, the pool started turning green again :( The entire time, I noticed that the pressure in the filter was more than double what it used to be. I assumed that it was catching the algae and the debris was My guess is that the zeolite in the filter (which I use instead of sand and which does a fantastic job) is clumping. In the reviews, someone mentioned that they had to empty their sand and thoroughly clean it after using this dye. I hope I don't have to do this my zeolite is fairly new. This is way more than I bargained for. I've never experienced anything like this before. I think the dye did something that seriously messed up the pH level, causing the algae bloom. Since this started, I've backwashed the pool daily, the first 3 days of backwashing, the water initially came out bright blue (mind you, the blue had been gone from the pool days ago). I would let it backwash until it was clear, but the next day, when I backwashed, it was initially blue again. I don't get it. I'm not planning to use this product again. I suggest you be careful.

Looks cool, but it stains!
The blue lagoon look was really pretty and everyone loved it, but it did stain the tile and some of our bathing suits. Going to be a lot of scrubbing to get it off the tile!
