Great Bass for the player with normal hands!
After tuning it, I tried it out. It's great having a smaller bass with great sound like this Ibanez! It looks great, sounds good, and is responsive. One of the best things is that it's on the smaller side, enough that those of us who aren't wide receivers or have long fingers can easily play it! I'm thrilled I spent a little more to get an Ibanez over the lower-priced basses. The price is still very reasonable, and Ibanez has an excellent reputation for quality instruments.

Lightweight marvel, easy and fun to play.
This is an amazing bass for the price! The shorter scale and somewhat reduced tension on the strings make playing fast and fun. I actually like the tone better than my larger 5-string bass; and the reduced weight is easier on my shoulder. There is a small amount of hum when the bridge pickup is turned way up - would not do for recording, but for live playing it's not enough to matter, I just use mostly the other pickup. The bass is well made; the tuners are really nice. The factory setup was spot on; I didn't need to do a thing. I'm really glad I bought it.

Good Bass but don't get Refurbished
Starting off with the guitar itself, it sounds great, easy to frett if you have small hands. Bought this unit refurbished. It came in a box haphazardly taped together almost falling apart and the set up was quite awful. Action was way too low, , truss rod too tight, so the frett buzzed even playing an open string. Too an hour or so to fix. Now the worst part, I noticed the output jack to be quite loose and free spinning, removed the back panel to get to the wiring and saw an awful soldering job, whoever owned it last did not know what they were doing. Neutral and ground wires were poorly stripped and barely attached on to potentiometer and the jack with a tiny bit of solder. The basement guitar itself is good, would buy new instead of trying to save 10 or 20 dollars getting a liked new refurbished

Great bass sound, in compact package
Great bass when a more compact size is needed. It's basically the same size as a guitar. I replaced the strings on mine with flat wounds, bc I prefer that kind of sound. Easy, and the strings that came with it, are quality rounds. Tuners are quality and work well holding tune. I didn't need any setup, the neck was flat and perfect distance set at bridge. It's a great bass, and only the top 1% could hear the difference. I have a full size Yamaha, and they sound nearly identical. I do like feel like the single coildnp and j pickups are little low on the quality side, but for this price, I think they're right on the money (pun intended).

Buy it. You wont regret it
I almost didn't buy the Mikro but now I dont know if I'll ever pick up the full size again! The short scale fits me so much better and way lighter. Im not sure how ibanez makes such quality instruments at low cost, (Comparatively.) No set up needed. Just tuned and played

The quality is amazing.
I'm in love with this bass. I found 4 reviewers on YT who said exactly the same thing, which is why I took a chance on the Ibanez Mikrobass. Professional instrument know-it-alls have said that short scale basses have a different tone than full scale (while making a face as if they smell a fart), and I was very curious about that, because... logic. After my own experimentation, I could detect no audible difference between my full scale Yamaha (BB350F/1997) and the Ibanez Mikrobass, both clean and on many amp and pedal settings... because, of course they both have the same gauge strings, are tuned to the same vibrational frequency and have virtually identical pickups, so... math. I love the feel of it, because the lighter body and neck, and perhaps the looser strings having more travel distance to sustain a note, allows the vibration of the strings to penetrate deeply into your hands and torso. For me, that really adds to the joy of playing. After a few days, I started to crave the feeling of it more and more. It goes without saying that the shorter, more narrow neck and looser strings makes it a lot more comfortable to play, for people with normal sized hands or smaller. If I were the seller, I would not be happy with those photos which leave you wondering about the body's finish. Well, let me tell you there is no hint of orange on my red body, just deep dark red, worthy of the blood god. And, through the clear coat, up close, you can see all of the wood grain detail, but at a distance, the dark specks give it a warm fuzz, that, how crazy is this, thematically suits this instrument in every way. The fuzz master, baby! Honestly, it's quite nice looking, IMO. Much better than I expected. And, the only imperfection I could detect was the volume knob sticks a little when turned all the way down, but I'm expecting it to wear in. In summation, it baffles me how this instrument, which has clearly had a ton of love poured into its design and quality control during assembly, can sell, new, for under $200. This is now my main instrument. I was not paid to say any of this.

Looks like a toy, rocks like a pro🤘
This little guitar produces a BIG sound! Bought this for travel and I’m super impressed with the big sound it produces. Because of lower string tension, short scale basses produce a bigger more resonant sound and this one comes through.

Love this!
I love mine. Color was gorgeous. Electronics are great. Plays really nice. This is literally one of my favorite guitars. Also, it's really light which is nice. Great value.
