Can metal utensils be safely used without damaging the surface of the mat?

I would not use metal utensils. I purchased it for rolling of fondant and pastry. It sticks well to the table surface and does not slide around.

Is this a mesh? I plan to use as a protection surface on top of an induction hob. I don't want bits and liquids passing through the mat onto the hob.

Not mesh. It's a flexible silicone sheet. Great for rolling pastry out or doing pizza dough

Is this printed on both sides

Only on one side but you can see the print on the other side. However, after several use and wash, bits of the prints came off!!

How thick is this mat, please?
