much improved sleep quality
Very good quality and dramatically improved sleep. I bought 2 sets. They're not soundproof of course, but they SIGNIFICANTLY reduce certain pitches of sounds. Combined with better blackout than my old curtains, it's made for much better sleep for me. I now have to set an alarm to get up on weekends, and find myself waking up from a deep sleep when it's time to get up. This is *such* a good thing, easily worth the premium pricing. My suburban location (and late 1900s-construction detached home) suffers from picking up highway and airplane noise, distant construction, neighbor's cars coming and going, the wind creaking the eaves, and worst of all are neighbor's noisy lawn services. It's awful for sleeping past 5am. All of those things still exist with these curtains up, BUT the higher pitches are reduced 30-60%, maybe more? It's enough that sounds are different. Example: I heard a weird rumbling after I installed these, stepped out of my bedroom and realized it was the distant trucks in the morning- the curtains had masked all but the lowest pitches enough that I couldn't place the sound. I ordered more right away lol (not joking). They're also finished on both sides, so the "outside view" can show your color choice. These will do just fine on a normal curtain rod. They are heavy, but nothing unusual. Folks complaining about them pulling rods out of the walls must be apartment dwellers depending on heavy residential drywall to hold bare screws in place. Just use any kind of anchor like all good homeowners should know how to do, and you'll be fine. I hung these on several versions of big-box curtain rods including a super-flimsy one and it's held fine. I was skeptical about spending so much on curtains sight unseen, but they look good AND the amount of noise reduction has measurably improved my sleep quality. I even ordered more to hang as a room divider hoping they will keep that space quieter. Only qualm is having to remove the felt middle layer to wash them, but I wash curtains so infrequently that I don't think it matters. I only wish I had discovered these earlier. Highly Recommended.

Outside noise reduced!
I have done my own test with the window open and using the curtains alone, i live a bit outside of the city while at night so no cars pass by so my test a a lot more accurate so i used my macbook connected to my JBL Go 4 and used my phone to test the sound and as you can see without the curtains the decibel average and max decreased up to 6 decibels which is a huge difference compared to my normal curtains, i think for its price worth it as the quality is very good, its nice soft, a bit heavy and really blacks out the sun so hopefully my room wont get as hot as it was last year but as of right now, i really love it and will get some for my living room! I live next to a road that is very busy because it connects to 2 different highways so it gets loud during the day, but i do not regret spending 80$ on them! Keep in mind there are NOT SOUND PROOF they REDUCE noise and i think alot of people with low IQ cant seem to read that, before i buy a product i always look at the bad reviews and those people should not reproduce since they cant read the description.

Sound dampening. But not soundproof.
I purchased these because we were rearranging my bedroom. My bed was going to be next to a window that would have very noisy cars driving by behind our house with no mufflers. These do not block sound, but they make the sound more tolerable. They block light 100%. We hung these up on adhesive hooks at the very top of the wall. The two panels almost cover the entire wall. To put the sound blocking effect into perspective. The cars have gotten so loud over the past few years, they literally sounded like they were driving through our backyard at 4 am. Now they sound more distant. Even though they are not. It has improved my sleep a lot. So that speaks volumes. One wall currently reminds us of hotel curtains. Once the other outer wall is done, this room will be quieter. Not without exterior sound. But still quieter. These don't block sound 100%. So don't expect that. But for my purposes, I'm quite satisfied.

OMG THANK HEAVENS
These are awesome. I live on a main rd -- 6 lanes behind my house. Major firestation 2 blocks down. Lots of street lamps. Near a major hub airport. And really, really mean neighbors. It's a rental, so just honeycomb shades. I didn't initially want the expense and repairs of installing drapes, but I hadn't slept well in a year. Literally. These ROCK. Heavyweight decorative layer is plain polyester taffetta, but very thick. Fabric hangs well. Back layer is thin thermal. Removable Middle layer is thin, dense felt. I got the 95" ones, 4 panels, and hung three from a 120" rod all the way to the ceiling. You will need heavy duty rods attached to studs; I find the 3 layers Very heavy. Used 3 panels to stretch from window to window, including the entire wall in between, behind my headboard. Used the last panel on a single side window. I love these. They're saving me, because sleep deprivation will ruin your life. You can't stay calm without a good night's rest at least several nites a week. It's not soundPROOF, I can hear the sirens more distantly, and the high sharp tones are gone. The rumbler cars my noisy neighbors prefer are almost mute. CANNOT EVEN HEAR THE LOW FLYING PLANES. Neighbors' 3am lights are completely blacked out. While not completely soundproof, I AM NO LONGER AWAKENED BY THESE NOISES ONCE ASLEEP. It's also much easier to fall asleep. No light gets through. Outside noise is much softer. MY life is vastly improved by these. My kids prefer it too. These Curtains are the least expensive of their kind, with sound-absorbing felt. Satisfactory quality. They were more like 94" long. I used super strong mini magnets to lash the side to the edge of the window well. When i have time, I will sew or glue these to the felt. They're a perfect blank canvas, but very plain. You could stitch panels on, do decorative stitching or embroidery.... craftier people will have fun dreaming how to dress them up. I plan to spruce them up with pre-made, decorative sheer overlays, using sheers on the ROOM side of the curtain. As soon as we move. I will buy more of these. My husband called the curtained room "spa-like". 'Nough said.

Length can vary between packages.
Good noise reduction, excellent light blocking, and decent looking. My only complaint is the length is not uniform between packages and can vary by as much as 3/4"

The thickest, most sound deadening curtains
These are the best sound "proofing" curtains you could likely get on Amazon. I've tried tons of curtain brands, they're all largely the same and fairly light. These ones are HEAVY. Like I swear each set is like 10+ lbs. They're nearly twice the price but you get what you pay for. If you want something more than paper thin, these are it.

Great quality.
Works so well the room sounds different when the curtains are closed. They block out all light and muffle so much sound. I bought these so my dog would stop barking at night and it has worked phenomenally.

Get them
The blackout works perfect, they are heavy but not that much. you won't have any issue installing it. as for the sound, it definitely dampens the sounds, specially high pitched ones but won't block sound completely which is kinda expected

Best curtains Iโve even bought!!
We bought these curtains to help with noise reduction as the apartment we rent is open concept and the laundry room doesnโt have a door and is directly off the living room. They are super thick and heavy, soft, and very high quality. They worked so well at blocking the sound of the dryer we got another set to replace the black out curtains in our bedroom - figuring if they worked that week at noise reduction theyโd probably be great at blocking it light too. Let me tell you, they block every bit of sunlight in our room. My husband works nights and no longer needs to wear an eye mask when he goes to bed. We arranged them to over lap and extend past the window so that every part is covered and when the door is shut you canโt see your hand in front of your face. We were already very happy with the purchase but noticed an unexpected bonus - our bedroom was noticeably degrees cooler than the rest of the apartment. So we bought another set to put on the windows in the living room to help keep it cooler in the summer, and again itโs been amazing. These are the best curtains Iโve ever bought. They are amazing at reducing noise and heat, and block all sunlight coming into a room. I was originally hesitant because of the price when ordering the first pair but you get what you pay for and they are very much worth it!!

Blackout curtains work the same
They don't block a lot of noise at all unfortunately. I used a decibel meter and it didn't even drop by 4. Blackout curtains from IKEA will have more or less the same effect.

Not 100% soundproof but worth it
In my opinion, these curtains are worth the price. You cannot expect them to be completely soundproof, but they muffle sound considerably. I got these for mine and my kids bedrooms because the idiots in modded cars and motorcycles came out of hibernation and started gunning down the street in the middle of the night. Of course we can still hear them with these curtains, but they are considerably muffled and much less annoying and no longer wake up my kids at night. If you're looking for a completely soundproof solution you would have to add other things to your windows in addition to these.
