Color Write Fountain Pens, Pack of 8, Colored Ink

These are super fun to play with and a great value. The only weird thing is that there are different nib sizes on the pens. I can't find any reason for that, but it does provide more play. I haven't had any leakage and the quality seems great. I'm happy they have replacement ink so that even though they are disposable, I don't have to dispose of them!

My first foutain pen is the Zebra V-301. I still have it but the cap does not snap any more to the tail of the pen. This makes if unconfortable to use at times, remember the cap on the tail is to help with the writing experience, even for these cheap ones. So, what I like about these fountain pens is that the cap still snaps to the front end, but is a compresion fit to the tail end of the pen. I don't see it failing like my Zebra fountain pen. What I also like is the fine nib, I am a lefty writter so, the fine nib is a super plus, a necessity for me. Being a lefty with fountain pens you have to learn to be graceful when writting, and these are some smooth writting fountain pens for the price. These pens write just as nice as my MONTEVERDE fountain pen. I love them as they are, but I still like to suggest some medium nib choices too. Thanks Ooly!! :-)

These are great. I love the colors. It took me a second to get the ink to start flowing on the first one but after that I got the hang of it and they’ve been great since.

I like these pens. They write smoothly, and most of the colors are pretty, except I don't care for the shade of red and the yellow doesn't seem very useful. It is important to know that this ink is not waterproof. I had trouble getting the ink to flow in half of the pens. I have a lot of experience with fountain pens, but nothing I tried worked. I almost returned the set, but didn't get to it for about a week, and during that time I had them upside down. Before sending them back I tried again, and lo and behold all the pens worked well! I bought these on a whim because I love fountain pens and was delighted to see this set. I am not sure what I will use them for-- maybe just for my calendar/planner. The nib is pretty fine, so when I write with them the writing doesn't look different from using any old gel pen -- you don't get the character you get with a slightly thicker nib, which you can hold on an angle.

They are my favorites! Best company to get standard ink sizes in multiple colors. And their pens are affordable.

These are just okay. The colors are pretty, but half the pens are dry, scratchy, and just not fun to write with. The ones that *do* write, however, are nice. The favorite is the pink because it actually works. I wouldn't repurchase these or the ink refills since there are other brands of inexpensive fountain pens that work better (like the Pilot Varsity/V Pen).

I read quite a bit and needed some pens having different colored inks for margin notes because magic markers are too large and these are perfect for that purpose. And compared to other fountain pens they are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend.

UM.....the FIVE STAR Reviews baffle ME........absolutely BAFFLE ME....,im a DESIGNER.......so I KNOW PENS.....really know PENS....in fact.....i was born with pens and markers in my left hand......so I wanted to try these out.....NOPE...NOPE....and...he** to the NOPE........its not rocket science to make a fountain pen work...so...when they didn't function....initially...I set them upside down overnight to allow the ink to draw down into the nib.....NOPE...NOPE.....and he** to the NOPE......that even didn't WORK.....absolutely...NO INK FLOW...NONE WHATSOEVER......into the nibs......so either I received a really bad bad bad set of pens...or OOLY...as a BRAND...just really really suck............which is it....??????......NOW...if ever OOLY reads these reviews and they'd like to actually send me a FUNCTIONING SET OF DAMN PENS.......id be extremely happy to try again...but its doubtful that I'll ever hear from them.......come on people......set me up right and I'll forever sing your praises....,until then....OOLY....you are HORRIBLE..just HORRIBLE....AS..,this is COMING from a designer who is absolutely surrounded by pens........NOT...NOT...NOT PEOPLE...JUST MOVE ALONG.......

Using these to teach penmanship and occasionally add colour pops to my own notes. These pens have nice sturdy nibs for beginners. I collect fountain pens but the nibs on my own pens are too delicate to let my kids use- these Ooly pens have been perfect for 8-10 year old to use without bending or damaging the nibs. Pens are also light and easy for them to manipulate. Ink flow is decent, the barrel is wide enough to encourage a good grip and the pens don’t leak. Ooly has instructional videos to troubleshoot ink install and getting the pens set up. Only major con is the price of refill ink. Yikes.
