Compré la Tunze Refugio Eco Chic 8831 para el sump de mi acuario marino y hasta ahora estoy muy satisfecho con el resultado. La instalación es súper sencilla, el diseño es compacto y se nota inmediatamente que es un producto bien pensado y de alta calidad. La luz es potente sin ser exagerada, ideal para el crecimiento de macroalgas como chaeto. Desde el primer día noté buena cobertura y un color de luz perfecto para el refugio. Además, consume poca energía y no genera calor excesivo, lo cual es un gran plus para mantener parámetros estables. Otro punto fuerte es la calidad de construcción. Tunze nunca decepciona: materiales sólidos, buen acabado y sensación de durabilidad. Se ve que es una luz hecha para durar, no un producto genérico más. Después de probar varias opciones, esta ha sido una de las mejores decisiones para mi sistema. So Tunze makes great products…if not a little overpriced. These are well made but the cord is a little short. It would be easy to find an extension but I needed maybe 3” more so I just made it work. These say they’re 9W but a little research will tell you that they drop to 7W pretty quickly due to overheat protection. Smaller biocube sized tanks will probably be ok with these but for larger tanks they’re less cost effective. I have 3 of these installed horizontally in the back compartment of a 120g AIO reef tank with Chaeto. I needed 3 to equal the Neptune Gro that they replaced in a HOB Refugium. Unfortunately the gro was just too wide as the AIO chamber is about 16” long but only 4” wide. I love how there is no light spill from these on AIO tanks. They do grow Chaeto and don’t add any noticeable heat to the tank. I did try using them on an upflow algae scrubber and they did work. You’d need 2 (one on each side) but they’re a sealed, ready to go out of the box option for something like that and highly effective. Honestly I’m very happy with these if I don’t think about the cost. But I do which is why I knocked off the stars. It’s just an insane cost/watt. I wish they came in a larger, flatter version so I didn’t need to have 3 (or eventually 4) cords and fixtures.

I have had this for about a month now. It is located right above my water level in my refugium. My chaeto has more than doubled in size. Would 100% recomend over whatever my light for my other tank is. I will be purchasing another!

My only dislikes for this light is that its not a smart light to were you can program and adjust. Also the mount makes it a little difficult for some hang over board refugium. I haven't had it long enough to notice growth yet but I know it's working because now I have significantly reduced the green hair algae in my display tank and encountered a new issue, which is dinoflagellates caused by extremely low nutrients.

Bought it a while back. After about three weeks there was a short in the wire. Was good while it lasted.

This product works perfectly for all in one tanks, because of limited space it allows you to still benefit from Refugium without being overly crowded in the back chambers.

It’s a very powerful light for its size and it’s waterproof. I like it a lot!
