Will heavy coats be a problem?** A: I bought this 2 years ago and mounted it to wallboard with a good fastener. We use it every day to hang mostly coats and jackets. It finally broke last night when we hung several winter coats and a couple of jackets. The two holes in the back are two metal strips each with a hole. This strips are then attached to the back of the hanger each with two small screws. In this case the failure occured when the small screws pulled out of the back of the hanger on one side. I don't think it can be fixed. I know, I probably put too much weight on it but it was much less than 20 pounds. I'd guess somewhere around 15 pounds. To reiterate, The connection to the wall did not fail, the hanger itself failed. **Q: Would the hooks be appropriate for hanging keys as well?** A: Hello and thank you for your enquiry. So my mistake was measuring on a tape measure and then putting the tape measure on the wall, without paying attention to which was the right/left side (I just assumed as long as I had an equal distance marked out on each side of the wall I would be good). So unfortunately after the first attempt it was a good few inches to the right (very noticeable on the small wall I was hanging it on since it was very off center). I had to buy spackle, patch those holes, and try again. Second attempt looks centered and so far it’s held up well to multiple coats/purses.If you are able to secure at least one of the screws into a stud that would be ideal. Otherwise it does come with wall anchors to make it more secure.I like that it doesn’t look like an obvious coat rack, which is exactly what I was going for in our almost nonexistent entryway.It definitely helps to have the hooks for when guests come over (since we have no coat closet by the front door) and it looks modern when it’s not in use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great functional art! *by J***N on July 6, 2019* The media could not be loaded. *Update: still holding up great!
