It was very easy to install. Just trench out the border you want it to edge and fit it in. I used the claw end of a claw hammer to trench out any high spots in the trench so I could get the depth I needed. I packed dirt or sand in the trench on either side of the edging to keep it vertical. The stakes were easy to drive into the soil with a hammer. I used hedge clippers to trim the length. I am now ordering my third roll to finish up my edging and make yard maintenance much easier. There is enough height leftover after installation to contain mulch without it spilling over the edge. I'm glad I didn't purchase a shorter edging board, so that's definitely something to consider, as this needs to be partially buried. We sunk ours about 2 inches. Looks great. Word of caution- we laid it out in the sun for several hours first as others recommended. We were surprised how much it expanded. However, we laid it in the ground soon after that, so essentially in the expanded state. As the cooler weather approached it began to shrink. There was not enough overlap, we left only 3-5 inches in some places, so as it cooled and contracted the ends separated from the other section and also slipped out from the stake used to place them. Having used this I would recommend that it is laid out from the start in the sun. It will be more pliable and flexible to use at this point. BUT on your project, anticipate that it will not be that full length expanded and leave a generous portion of overlap if you must meet an additional section. It should be 40' total you're working with, maybe plan your project allowance of 36" and wait a season before final cuts are made after you see how it performs in all seasons. It is very very easy to work with though. We get tons of compliments too from the neighbors.
