First a flea infestation, but we conquered that. But the ticks that the deer were importing to our yard were just too much. K9 Advantix II was useless against ticks. The exterminator used Ultracide and Cyzmic with a growth inhibitor, but that only zapped the rest of the fleas. Next came a Preventic Tick collar, and that sort of worked, but we still kept finding engorged ticks on the dog and in the house. My wife was a total wreck. So I did a little research and found many articles and vet recommendations for Paramite. It seemed to be serious stuff, and rather pricey, but figuring my wife would need therapy if I could not kill all the ticks, I went for it. I received the Paramite LA and discovered the directions were for cattle and swine. So back to the internet for more directions. Found this. TAKE NOTE: the concentration that is recommended for Paramite on dogs is 0.5 to 1.0 ounce per gallon of water. I chose the low end concentration and mixed up three gallons. Put my poor old Aussie into a large tub and sponged the Paramite solution all over her except for her face. This stuff smells like a toxic waste dump. It it very strong. BE SURE to put on nitrile (rubber) gloves that extend over your forearm. You sure don't want to spend the next few days smelling like Paramite. I let the dog run around in the yard until she was dry. This didn't take long in the Houston heat as it was in the mid 90s. Okay, she smells to high heaven, but we see relief in sight. There was a dead tick floating in the tub when I got her out. Yes! Two days later, she is tick-free for the first time in weeks. I scratched a completely dead tick off her thigh, and we found a dead tick in her bedding. But she is tick free! It is working! Finally. Hallelujah! Review: Great Product - It is a great product, it is just not doing the job, it has done in the past. I really don't know why. I would recommend for anyone to give it a try.

Excellent!
Great product! Used it on my dogs and saw drastic improvement after one treatment! My dogs have had a total of three treatments thus far and the hair has almost completely grown back. I had originally tried the recommended home remedy of borax and peroxide --- this did not work at all --no improvement whatsoever! I highly recommend this product but be sure to follow the instructions carefully!

Before fipronil this was called" dip" and the vet had a vat of it mixed up into which the family dogs were" dipped" to kill fleas and ticks. Along comes the e.p.a. and no more dip. Mix a half ounce to a whole ounce of this stuff with a gallon of water and sponge it on fido, then let dry. Kills mange too. Use a few times a year as it is powerful.

Paramite does the better than any other product and is safe when used ...
Our dog periodically starts scratching and chewing her rear end to the point that she pulls out all of her hair where she can reach. Normally, standard flea shampoo takes care of the issue but it's obvious that at other times it is mange/mites which dig into the skin and in the base of the hair follicles. NO standard shampoo kills the mites. Paramite does the better than any other product and is safe when used as directed which is normally 2 - 3 tablespoons of Paramite to a gallon of water, sponged over the entire dog with the exception of the eyes. May take 2 treatments 2 weeks apart for bad infestations including their sleeping area which many people miss (washing their bedding and spraying the area with the same mix should work).
