Not good at all

I was around, and playing Contra back in the snes and genesis days. This was definitely one of the best franchises of Konami, one of the elite game companies. So naturally I snatched this one up when it got released. I'm really not sure why it's receiving so much hate. Because it's not a fps? Because it's not halo or fortnite or any of the (imo) true "cookie cutter"/generic games? To me, this is a solid, old-school shooter, and a pretty worthy successor in the Contra lineage. The controls are pretty easy to learn, I find the game to be the right amount of challenge, and it's fun. The only thing I'll say to the negative, is that the control system is a bit "sloppy" and un-precise, but it's not horrible. And I love the fact that they put in "couch co-op". Btw, the "Contra Collection" is such a great thing to release on the Switch. I'm digging that too. I hope there are more such releases of some of the old-school fanchises.
