I haven't used any sort of egg rings before, and I really wanted some but I didn't want to end up with a poor product that would only make cooking more frustrating (I don't enjoy cooking). I like the durability of the material - it doesn't feel cheap or fragile. They seem to be well made. I have a family of 6, and we love eggs. These rings are great on my electric griddle. I can use the space much more efficiently, and the eggs are now very easy to pop on biscuits or whatever. They work well for over-easy, also. It does help a LOT (thanks to the other reviewers) to add a little oil or spray and let them heat up a bit before adding your eggs. The little handles heat up a it! but not enough to bother me. They're a little hard to hold onto, but again, not a problem for me. However, I am ordering another set because I love them so much. They're super easy to hand wash or if I'm feeling lazy, I just toss them in the top rack of the dishwasher. I am very happy with the price also. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great for eggs as long as you pre-heat both the pan *and* the egg ring *by R***Y on Reviewed in the United States on 2 June 2016* I got these to cook round eggs and egg whites to make homemade English muffin breakfast sandwiches. The first time I tried them, I used a cool non-stick pan, and put the ring in and immediately poured egg white in. The egg white mostly ran out the bottom of the rings all over the inside of the pan, and I might as well not have used the ring at all.Then I read online and was enlightened.Here's what's working well for me:1. Use a pan with a pretty flat bottom. If you put these rings in a curved or warped pan, egg is likely to leak from under the ring no matter what you do.2. Pre-heat the pan so it's pretty hot, along with a little bit of butter or oil - I use olive oil from a spray bottle to keep calories down.3. Put the egg rings in, and move them around a little to catch some of the grease between the ring and the pan surface.4. Let it sit for a half-minute or so to let the egg ring heat up5. Add the egg white or egg slowly. Because both the pan and the ring are hot, and there's some hot oil in between, when the egg white gets to any gap between the ring and the pan, it instantly cooks a little and forms a seal. Then the rest of the egg white or egg won't leak out.6. Turn the heat down and let the egg cook slowly, from the bottom up. I find if I pull the ring off and try to flip it too early, the top of the egg isn't cooked and I might as well not have used the egg.Some folks mention adding some water to the pan and putting a lid on it, so the bottom of the egg fries and the top steam-cooks. I haven't tried that yet because I usually cook some turkey bacon on the outside of the rings to add to the breakfast sandwich.My only complaint - and this is my reason for deducting a star - is that I don't remember these rings coming with any instructions. If they'd had a piece of paper in with it describing what's above, I wouldn't have messed up my first batch of egg whites. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These things work great! Try them with sourdough starter discard, for delicious crumpets. *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on 25 June 2020* I am as pleased as punch with these inexpensive crumpet rings! I used the King Arthur recipe for Sourdough Crumpets. I used 100% white whole wheat sourdough starter discard. I put one cup, 227 grams, of starter in a bowl and left that out on the kitchen counter overnight. In the morning I warmed up the griddle while mixing the starter with the tiny bit of sugar, salt and soda that the recipe calls for (be careful to mix in the soda very, very well!). I did give the rings a shot or two of spray cooking oil, but probably that's not necessary. I have a gas range and I can't tell the exact temperature of the griddle, but I kept it on Low, and that worked well. I spooned the batter into the rings and about five minutes later simply lifted the rings straight up and off the par-cooked crumpets. Then I turned the crumpets and finished cooking them, another 3-5 minutes. We split them apart easily and ate them with butter and jam. Wow they were good! They made a wonderful crunch, too. The rings cleaned up easily with a little soapy water, but probably they would go in the dishwasher. (A suggestion to the designer: round off, or bevel the sharply-molded line around the outside of the ring, to make excess batter easier to clean off.)
