You have to provide your own usb-c power supply, presumably the one that powers your USB-c laptop. It provides one HDMI port to hook up to an external monitor -- you'll have to have that specific HDMI cable which connects as well (I carry hdmi, VGA, and DVI-D cables to be safe). Nice to have a larger display or dual displays to work with at your different office sites or hotels or whatever, so your excel sheets and email don't cover each other. Even has network and a usb-c 2.0 ports if you are so lucky to be somewhere wired and with a printer.
