Pccooler S83 CPU Cooler - Mini CPU Heatsink - TDP 95w - Single Tower and Support Dual Fans - Anti-Oxidation Protective Layer - 80mm Silent Fan Suitable for Mini PC Case - Wide Compatibility

I purchased this little cooler to replace a stock cooler on an i7 4770. I replaced the thermal paste on both coolers prior to finalizing the build and tested. While there was zero temperature difference from the stock cooler under load, it took about 10 min longer to reach a peak of 85C under AIDA64 with this cooler. Where this little cooler shines is the noise, or lack-thereof. The nonexistent noise of the PcCooler is the reason I purchased it to replace the stock cooler. Installation was easy - the mounting system on the cooler is the brace-style and will fit an AMD bracket out of the box. The Intel bracket the PcCooler comes with is very easy to install and will fit any 775 or 115X (1150, 1151, 1155. 1156, etc.) socket. Compatibility with the PcCooler is great. It is a tower style, but about 30% smaller than a Cooler Master Hyper 212. OEM cases and RAM slots rejoice! Overall I am very pleased with the performance of the PcCooler for the price, especially on the noise. If you are targeting significantly lower temps or overclocking, I'd look around. For lowering the noise it's awesome and will definitely be ordering more for other non-overclocking builds. Notes on my experience with receiving the product: The condition of the PcCooler upon receipt was unexceptional at best, but with my experience building and slight modification, I made it work. It looks like my unit was used or returned prior to it being shipped to me. There was no plastic cover on the heatsink bottom (not even floating in the box), and it was covered in old thermal paste. The mounting bracket only came with 3 of the 4 plastic push-pins for securing - overall presentation was unacceptable. Good thing about Chinese products, is everyone makes them and everyone steals ideas. I had an old Zalman cooler lying around with the exact same 775/115X bracket lying around and it worked perfectly with this cooler. I had to dremel the base of my bracket a couple mm to get perfect fit/mounting pressure, but it all worked out and fits great. Again, price to performance is great with this little thing and I will buy more in the future. I realize shipping mishaps happen, and while it may reflect poorly on the company, this cooler gets a solid A from me.

A tiny tower like this only has so many applications. Most cases are either too small for it, requiring a low-profile top-down cooler, or big enough to fit far more powerful options that pack a 120mm PWM fan for as little as $20. But maybe you're like me, insane enough to run an underclocked i7-8086K on a Mini ITX board inside of an In Win BK623 office PC case. The typical low-profile cooler is going to be scorched by an 8086K, even an undervolted chip. And that's where this guy comes in. Temperatures are held nicely in check, with Cinebench R23 load temps around 70C. The cooler stands about 112mm high and fits perfectly inside the case. I'm probably leaving some performance on the table because I have to run it in a pull configuration in order to get clean airflow to it. The fan is DC-controlled only, and while PWM would certainly be nice, I haven't had any issues with volume or performance from it. Some motherboards will throw BIOS errors if they don't detect a PWM fan on the CPU_FAN header, so beware, and if you can test a 3-pin fan in your CPU header to be sure your motherboard doesn't throw a fit, doing so is not a bad idea. This cooler ships in two versions, one with a yellow fan and one with a blue fan. Having owned and used both, the blue fan seems to be better all around. The mounting mechanism is just ok. It uses the cheap plastic ring and pushpin that you see with all kinds of AM4/115X mounts at sub-$40 price points. It's not going to fall out, but if you're using Intel and reliant upon the plastic ring mount, you're not getting the most amazing mounting pressure. That said, I have no complaints about the temperatures on mine, which is mounted using the plastic ring and pushpins. I did not have any issues installing it. In terms of looks, it looks like a mini-212 EVO. Nothing particularly sexy about it. Nothing ugly either unless you just can't stand the sight of bare aluminum. The issue I struggle with is price. At $20, this cooler is penny-for-penny up against the far superior Deepcool Gammaxx 400. There's no contest, but the Deepcool is 155mm tall. And it should also be noted that if your case is big enough to hold a Gammaxx 400, there is absolutely no reason to even consider something this size. So in terms of cost to performance, it's a pretty big loser, but in terms of cost for practicality, it's about where you'd expect. It does frequently drop in price from $20 to $14-16 via Amazon coupons, and you really shouldn't pay more than $15 for it. And that's kind of where I'll let this one sit. You only need this cooler if you *need* it, and if you *need* it, you'll know. There aren't a whole lot of circumstances where you do. But if you *need* it and you're able to get it for $15 or less, it's a decent value for a cooler that does an unexpectedly nice job of keeping everything from turning your SFF-ish build into a tiny pizza oven.

Well presentation is nice and the cooler looks great. My problens came when installing the fan. I was missing a piece for the bracket and instructions are close to minimal. I was hoping to replace an old am2 socket fan, but it was not compatible. i would need to buy a seperate am2 bracket to install this fan which is not what i wanted. I decided to install it onto my 115x socket computers. I found am old bracket and transfered the parts over. although it fit fine. The amount of pressure i had to use to install it was uncomfortable. I felt like i was going to break the motherboard, or the plastic bracket. Then came the preformance. Compared to idle on a stock intel fan it was 5-6 degrees lower which is nice. At stress levels it was relevatively the same as a stock fan. I got around 64-68 degrees while gaming. I get the same on a stock. All in all if you have an old pc that is getting too high in the temps and have the brackets then get this cheap solution. If you are looking to game with low temps and a nice easy install then look elsewhere i reccomend a 400 gammax. It comes with everything you need to install into basically any pc. Has its own brackets for amd and intel. This cooler does not just the intel 115x bracket. Other than that i am returning this fan asap since i have no need for it, and it came with missing parts.

My old fan was starting to give out and things were getting a bit too warm for my liking, even when it wasn't being stressed by gaming or running numerous applications (60c at certain points). I decided to pick this one up since it was a little larger than what I had installed (my PC was pre-built). I'm using an AMD FX-6300, so I didn't need to use the included bracket; although it was at that point I ran into a small but fixable problem. I needed to attach the heat sink to the existing bracket that my old setup was using, but the problem was that it was just a hair too high up for the clips to reach. What I had to was unscrew the connection and bend it just a little bit with a pair of pliers, and after screwing it back together I was able to make the connection as intended. I'm not sure if anyone else would need to do this, but I would suggest trying this out yourself. The fan itself runs nice and quiet, which is what I hoped for when looking for a replacement fan and heat sink. I didn't bother using the included thermal paste, since I had purchased a graphite thermal pad instead. It's definitely worth the price and isn't needlessly flashy like some of those other devices with all of those colorful LEDs. I had to give this 4 stars, only because of that small hassle in the build quality. One size certainly doesn't fit all.

I would have liked to use this heat sink in the computer im building for my girlfriend, the only issue is that it assumes you already have a bracket installed for amd processors. It gives you a mounting bracket for Intel processors so why not for amd? It's a piece of plastic that's no bigger than a phone. Serious oversight on this product and I am very upset because now o have to order an entire separate part and wait longer for that to come in the mail.

I actually purchased this heatsink and fan for a non-PC related project. As a user of a Noctua setup for my PC, I must say that the quality and performance of this cooler is quite good. It's on the small side - and you're not going to win any cooling competitions with it - but it's solid for the money and for the use I'll be putting it to. The fan mounting, fan noise level, heatsink, heat pipes, colors, and overall build quality is great for the price (if you exclude the shipping costs partially subsidized by the Prime price, this is about a $10 buy).

I do astrophotography, and since a hotter camera generates more noise I figured I’d start cooling it with a heatsink, so I got this. It works well and doesn’t cause any vibrations for AP so I’d recommend it for that. It should be noted that I cut a hole in my camera so that the heatsink could be more efficient at dissipating heat

For the money this is a great bargain. Keeps my 65 TDP APU very cool. The mounting brackets may or may not have to be tweaked a little for the AM4 socket. You can easily lower all four sides of the bracket so it doesn't put too much pressure on the CPU under installation.
